Job Summary

Provides instructional support/assistance for all math courses and meets with students virtually or in person at one of SKYCTC's six campus locations.

Job Duties:

This position reports to the Director of Library and Learning Services and is responsible for providing math tutoring support in the Learning Commons area for SKYCTC. Provides instructional support/assistance for all math courses and meets with students virtually or in person at one of SKYCTC's six campus locations.

Works with students one-on-one and in small groups to help them become confident, independent learners. Creates and maintains relationships with key faculty members. Collaborates with the Tutor Coordinator to mentor the part-time math tutors.

Participates in professional development. Serves on SKYCTC committees and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Math Education, Secondary Math) or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience - additional experience in science and/or business. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; possess excellent customer service skills and strong written and oral communication skills-preferred experience with Blackboard, Starfish, and PeopleSoft.

The successful candidate will have experience handling confidential information, a strong work ethic, and problem-solving skills. Must be patient, kind, dependable, and interested in helping others. Must be detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work independently or as a member of a high-functioning team. This position requires a high level of professionalism and initiative, the ability to meet deadlines, adjust to changing priorities, and the motivation to stay abreast of changes in a dynamic learning environment.
