CTE Math Teacher
Randolph Technical Career Center offers twelve full-day technical education programs, each of which offers college credits or industry certifications to students as part of their high school education. RTCC is a full day Career and Technical Center where students gain technical skills, professional skills and academic skills on our campus.
RTCC anticipates an opening for a Math Teacher for the upcoming school year.
The math instructor is responsible for teaching or overseeing stand alone math courses which may include Geometry, Algebra 2, Financial Literacy and/or E=MC2 . In addition the math instructor will provide push in related math lessons within each of our 12 programs as well as collaborate with instructors in developing meaningful, relevant math integration for embedded math. Responsibilities also include support and preparation for Workkeys, Accuplacer, PSAT, and SAT exams.
The math instructor will serve as an integral part of the program support team. The instructor must possess an understanding of reluctant learners and proven ability to engage students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support students with math related assignments
Support teachers with math related curriculum
Teach a variety of Math courses in and out of CTE Programs
Work with director and program teachers to align Common Core Math Standards and program related competencies.
Improve students' knowledge of best math practices.
Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the world.
Keep records of grades, grade papers, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Utilize the workkeys curriculum as a math tool for teaching
Create project-based learning opportunities to enhance understanding.
Compile Math Data for school wide or program improvement goals
Collaboratively develop targets and goals towards raising math proficiency at RTCC.
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
