Math Teacher 7-12

Mill River Union High School/Middle School in North Clarendon, Vermont has a full-time math position open starting August 2024. The candidate who fills this position will have classes at the middle school and high school level with a strong understanding in developing and implementing an engaging and hands-on curriculum and math interventions.

Familiarity with proficiency-based learning and grading practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Works with the Math Department and Curriculum Coordinator to plan curriculum that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
Communicates with students and parents/guardians for education-related purposes through phone calls, emails, and meetings.
Participates in meetings and works collaboratively with school counselors, case managers, and other teachers to support in the success and growth of students.
Facilitates an advisory each day to support students with peer to peer interactions, organization, and relaying important school wide information.
Designs culturally relevant and inclusive learning opportunities for a diverse student body
