Math Interventionist

Amani Public Charter School is seeking a Math Interventionist to provide targeted math intervention support to students in grades 5-8. The Interventionist will work collaboratively with classroom math teachers to identify students in need of intervention, design and implement individualized intervention plans, deliver small group instruction, monitor student progress, and ensure students are receiving the proper supports to make adequate gains in math.

Responsibilities:

• Administer math assessments and analyze data to identify students' strengths and challenges

• Develop individualized intervention plans aligned to student needs in math

• Provide direct individual and small group intervention in math

• Utilize research-based intervention programs, strategies and instructional techniques

• Closely monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed

• Collaborate with classroom math teachers to align interventions

• Maintain accurate intervention records, data, and progress monitoring

• Participate in professional development activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Math or related field required

• State certification/license in Math or Special Education preferred

• 2+ years experience providing academic intervention, especially math

• Deep content knowledge and understanding of math development

• Ability to administer and interpret math and skill-based assessments

• Familiarity with research-based math intervention programs

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Strong organizational, record-keeping and data analysis skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers

Highly desirable:

• Experience with iReady, NWEA MAP assessments, and math intervention programs.

Schedule & Commitment:

• School day 7:30-4:00pm, Monday - Friday

• School year mid-August through late June

• Ability to commute and teach in-person in Mount Vernon, NY
