Description:
Seeking qualified applicants for elementary school math interventionist to provide excellence in education by establishing an environment that facilitates student learning, encourages the realization of personal potential, and contributes to development as mature, able, and responsible students.
Job Summary:
Possesses knowledge of District policies and regulations relating to areas of responsibilities.
Develops and implements activities that encourage students to be life-long learners.
Provides leadership as a teacher, instructional coach, and specialist in the areas of mathematics.
Co-teaches lessons rooted in principles of differentiation.
Screens students who appear in need of support in mathematics and those who are new to the district.
Provides direct and related math services to those students in need of support in mathematics.
Informs staff of new research-based development in mathematics and recommends appropriate math materials and supplemental materials to teachers and students.
Adheres to Mathematics Illinois Learning Standards Incorporating the Common Core and School Board policy.
Maintains and enhances professional knowledge in trends and technology in mathematics by participating in various professional organizations and activities.
Serves as a member of the Special Services Team and the Multi Tiered Systems of Support Team.
Uses data and research on best practices in mathematics and general education to guide curricular and instructional decisions.
Organizes calendar of activities with staff, and meets and instructs assigned students/classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as requested or needed.
Supervises students both in and out of the classroom.
Maintains professional competence through participation in District provided in-service activities and/or self-selected professional growth activities related to job responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned within contractual agreements.
Adheres to all provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications
Appropriate Bachelor's Degree required
Valid Illinois Type 03 or 09 Teaching Certificate Endorsement/Specialist Degree in Mathematics
Successful student teaching or past teaching experience with empahsis in mathematics improvement
Valid First Aid/CPR card preferred

Additional Notes
Working Conditions:
Ability to actively perform work in classroom, office, and other business and community settings. Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (typically involving frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting). Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. Exposure to weather conditions. Ability to travel outside the district for a variety of meetings and conferences.
