Math Coach

Job Summary

The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Division of State Schools are recruiting for an experienced Math Coach. Under the direction of School Superintendent this position will provide a comprehensive educational of instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Description of Duties

• Prepare students for post-secondary education and careers in the business-related aspects of family and consumer sciences

• Classroom/ laboratory instruction, which aids in the development of academic and technical skills, independent living skills

• Identify appropriate individualized educational goals

• Develop and implement instructional lesson plans

• Maintain documentation of student progress

• Utilize appropriate instructional techniques based on individual student needs, and manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

• Possesses or is eligible to obtain Georgia Teacher Certification in the grade or content area of the prospective position

• Three years of experience teaching deaf/hard of hearing students in the content area

• Applicants must exhibit the ability to communicate in American Sign Language during the interview with the expectation of obtaining an American Sign Language Proficiency Instrument (ASLPI) rating of 3 or above within three years from date of hire
