TheMath team at Gaming Laboratories International performs complex statisticalmethods to test software designs that impact the products and services in the

Gaming & Lottery industries. Workingclosely with the Engineering team, the Mathematical Analyst I is responsiblefor performing complex statistical analysis of challenging problems to reinforce, evaluate, and improve productquality. The Mathematical Analyst conducts standardgame analysis, strategy game analysis, and random number generator analysis.This position is responsible for conducting technical reviews of other's work.The Mathematical Analyst is expected to be proficient in all appropriate toolsand methods relevant to the work, including computer programming, spreadsheetanalysis, and statistics. The Math Analyst devotes a large majority of timedirectly towards testing and review.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Writesprograms and performs other analyses to calculate needed mathematical featuresof games. These programs and analyses demonstrate good coding practices andare, by their structure and syntax, organized and easy to read and review withcomments and documentation as necessary

  • Readsand modifies programs and analyses developed by others to meet testing needs

  • Reviews,understands and documents RNG source code written in various languages

  • Writesprograms or scripts to manipulate, parse or reorganize large data files intostandard formats for testing

  • Conductsand interprets statistical testing on game simulation results and on RNG data

  • Carefullyreviews analysis work conducted by others for accuracy. Willingly receives andincorporates feedback from reviewers on work performed

  • Readsand interprets jurisdictional requirements, consulting appropriately forinterpretation

  • Workswith internal and external clients, communicating professionally andcourteously on topics of a technical nature

  • Effectivelycommunicates and collaborates with other members of the Math Department andother GLI employees

  • Completesadministrative duties, including time cards, promptly and without reminder

  • Performsother duties as assigned

Experience, Education, Skills and Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics,Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline

  • Valid driver's license

  • Tocommensurate with title, the Math Analyst should have:

  • Knowledgeof Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics

  • Knowledgeof modern C++, including appropriate use of object-oriented design

  • Understandingof core programming concepts and techniques

  • Knowledgeof Microsoft Excel

  • Musthave the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members ofthe team and external contacts

  • Abilityto handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines

  • Highdegree of attention to quality, details, and correctness

PhysicalRequirements and Working Conditions:

  • Musthave the ability to sit and work at a computer for extensive periods of time.

  • Musthave the ability to speak on the telephone with clients/prospective clients forex-tended periods of time.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: * Identifies trends and major findings. * Presents and articulates study findings to develop technical reports. * Analyzes data and provides consultation. * Consults with end users to evaluate needs and advises user regarding correct interpretation of data. * Running daily, weekly, monthly metrics reports. * Working to develop solutions to automate reporting when possible as well as developing self-serve reporting solutions. * Develops ad hoc reports for stakeholders as needed. Qualifications: * Requires BA/BS degree in business or math related field and minimum 5 years of data collection/analysis experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. * MS strongly preferred. * Incumbent should also have a solid understanding of metrics and statistical calculations and data consulting/presentation skills; knowledge of OLAP reporting tools required. Incumbent should be able to work independently and make recommendations based on statistical analysis. * Prior training and knowledge in process improvement and process control competencies, such as Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt or ITIL is a must.
