Materials Technician

Join our team at Regency Hospital, Greenville as our hands-on Materials Technician and utilize your skills as a detail oriented, highly valued and responsible part of our team. Our hospitals cater to critically ill patients and our goal is to deliver an exceptional patient and employee experience. You will be responsible for the daily ordering, receiving, stocking, and labeling of all medical/surgical supplies used to care for our patients, monitoring/managing inventory and par levels, and assuring accurate tracking of materials and supplies. Materials Technician will also be responsible for restocking all medical/surgical supplies in the nursing stations, medical-surgical equipment charging/tracking, equipment rental tracking and the ability to maintain an effective system to rotate expired products and document all changes appropriately. This position does not provide direct patient care.

Responsibilities

As a Materials Technician, you will be responsible assisting the Materials Manager with stocking needed daily supplies, and processing daily deliveries. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, collecting daily charge data, entering and logging all charges for each department, ordering supplies; ordering and returning of rental equipment, submission of invoices, moving equipment.

Other responsibilities of the Materials Technician position include:

  • Reviews and restocks daily all supplies in the nursing stations that are below par level

  • Receives all facility supplies and makes notation of the received amounts on the purchase orders

  • Handles inventory appropriately. Rotates inventory continually. Maintains adequate inventory levels

  • Reviews all invoices. Reconciles invoices to packing slips and purchase orders. Verifies invoice charges for ordered andagreed rates

  • Codes invoice line items with general ledger accounts. Maintains and reconciles all incomplete purchase orders to invoices.

  • Verifies all approval signatures per policies prior to processing invoices.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or the equivalent

  • Warehouse and supply chain experience

  • Experience in health care/hospital environment or medical/surgical supplies/equipment is a huge plus

Background & Skills To be considered for this position, you need the following: * Bachelor's degree * Minimum of 7 years supply chain experience, leadership experience, and manufacturing experience * ERS systems expertise * Fluent English language skills required. Must be a confident, personable, and effective communicator; both written and verbally. * SAP Experience * APICS or Supply Chain Management certification or training * Demonstrated problem-solver Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: * Drive the factory and suppliers to on-time execution. Measure, report, and drive supplier delivery improvement. Issue firm orders and forecasts to suppliers on a weekly or more frequent basis. * Work with Customer Service team on demand simulations (can we build, when can we build…). Convey factory and supplier constraints to customer service team. * Utilize SAP and other information to develop build schedules that support the sales plan provided by the Customer Service & Demand Planning team. Communicate delays to the Customer Service & Demand Planning team. Coordinate with demand planning teams to utilize shared inventory, to reduce local management and ownership of inventory. * Drive inventory reduction and improvements in inventory control. Monitor SAP inputs by other departments and drive corrective actions leading to accuracy improvement. * Create supplier inventory agreements such as safety stock, consignment and VMI programs. Develop supplier logistics agreements and coordinate improvements directly with the supplier - involving purchasing in commercial issues. * Engage in routine employee dialogue and performance review. Provide developmental opportunities for team member growth. * Participate in daily value stream meetings to communicate the build requirements and receive information regarding factory constraints. Participate in weekly local build plan meetings. * Utilize ERP and other information to develop raw material delivery schedules that support the build plan. Update ERP master data, build plan, supplier schedules, and inventory to maintain an accurate working environment. * Support DPP concepts and initiatives that drive business and factory process change.
