Knowesis is seeking a Materials Support Logistics Specialist in the Property Branch of a DoD Logistics & Facilities Division to provide material handling, inventory control and property management. This position works as part of a team, using automated systems for warehousing, tracking, logging, verifying and reporting of resources between the point of origin and point of destination. The specialist will operate a motor vehicle and a forklift as well as maintain the warehouse and vehicles in compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations.

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Pack, mark and coordinate materials and equipment for shipping to other DoD organizations using computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting

  • Prepare documents and verify condition and quantity of materials handled for receipt, turn-in, issue and shipment

  • Coordinate transportation with commercial, military freight and parcel carriers for shipping and receiving

  • Perform inventory management using Contractor Property Management System and Government Furnished Information Systems to optimize supply levels at the warehouse and operational sites

  • Use Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) such as the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system

  • Update maintenance reports with depot repair description and shipping or receiving dates for equipment returning from depot maintenance

  • Safeguard Cold-Chain Management and Temperature Sensitive Medical Products (TSMP), Class I and Class II controlled substances

  • Count quantities, quality, specification requirements, damages and loss in shipment against received transportation documents and sign freight bills

  • Select proper storage locations for items based on information shown on receiving vouchers, then stack and palletize items without instructions on the method or procedures to be used

  • Assemble items, load and unload trucks manually by handcarts and other non-mechanized conveyances or by operation of a forklift

  • Operate 2K Forklift; operate electric, gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles (GVW not to exceed Class 6) or other equipment with air brakes

  • Drive vehicles to transport supplies, materials, equipment, flammable, corrosive and hazardous materials or tools over public roads

  • Pick up and deliver hazardous chemicals and supplies from supporting organization's warehouses

  • Assure that cargo is properly located, distributed and secured in the vehicle for balance and stability

Experience and Skills

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required

  • Experience working with Commercial Industry or DoD military and civilian customers

  • Military experience desired; familiarity with DoD automated systems and logistics processes

  • Preference to Forklift Operator Certification

  • Motor Vehicle License: ability to attain and maintain

  • 3 years direct work experience

Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand regulations, instructions, stock tags and box markings; write accurate shipping and receiving documents

  • Communication skills to report overages, shortages or damage conditions to team lead

  • Solid time management skills to meet deadlines

  • Multi-tasking capabilities; handling multiple and parallel projects

  • Ability to perform duties and take initiative with minimal supervision

  • MS Office Programs: Word, Excel; Outlook and SharePoint a plus

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly to populate storage racks, load vehicles and organize pallets of materials

Government Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Public Trust or higher

You will directly support our client Project Manager Mission Command on their Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) I through III systems. If you have experience supporting a Department of Defense Product/Project Manager as an ILSM, CACI would like to speak with you. What You'll Get to Do: * Directly support the logistics needs of Joint Battle Command – Platform system, the Army's next generation friendly-force tracking system. * Support the coordination and planning of the program's Logistics Demonstration including, but not limited to, In-Progress Reviews (IPR's) with key stakeholders * Develop execution schedules and manage critical path events and will anticipate/ identify risk areas. * Review the task analysis list. * Develop and coordinate the fault list based on training plans, TBs, and TMs. * Develop the Log Demo plan. * Synchronize soldier/ proponent/ training developer/ SME personnel support. * Coordinate shipment of hardware/ software for events. * Ensure systems are configured to support events. * Ensure that Training Support Package (TSP) documentation redlines are incorporated correctly in a timely manner. * Support the development of Log Demo report and coordinate with PM/ Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC). * Integrate, collaborate, and synchronize the development of Technical Manuals, Training Support Plans, Maintenance Engineering efforts, provisioning parts lists, repair parts, special and unique tools and test equipment.
