Ensures that the inventory of materials is up to date and sufficient to meet requirements.


  • Receive inbound material loads.

  • Check and verify all outbound material loads.

  • Maintain Bill of Lading Logs.

  • Maintain Supplier/Customer inventory system.

  • Input inbound and outbound shipments in customer material tracking system as required.

  • Complete receiving discrepancy reports upon finding nonconforming product and follow MAS 1040 WI Control of product not approved and/or nonconforming.

  • Identify inbound material racks to maintain FIFO inventory system.

  • Prepare expedite parts for shipment to assembly plant.

  • Occasionally deliver expedite parts to the assembly plant (when applicable).

  • Conduct inventory cycle counts when needed.

  • Supervise Hilo drivers and ensues efficient stocking of production areas.

  • Any and all tasks given by management or manager.

SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS (List specific skills required but not defined in Description)

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Prior Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Inventory Control experience preferred

  • Experience with SAP or any relative ERP/MRP/PRP system

  • Previous experience with expediting materials to meet established schedules

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Hilo operation experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of basic purchasing principles

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

General Description with Scope: Supervise the shipping and receiving functions of a particular shift. Ensure proper receipt of direct and MRO material and the delivery of all material to its proper location. Execute the shipping of finished goods (materials or products) according to the customer's requirements. Competencies: SAP Supervision Shipping / Receiving in a high-volume manufacturing plant Key Responsibilities/Deliverables: * Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. * Supervise Cycle counters and daily inventory activities. * Responsible for inventory accuracy, inventory turns and reducing carrying cost. * Effectively interview, hire, and train employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewarding and disciplining employees as appropriate; addresses complaints and resolves problems as applicable. * Must be familiar with all materials jobs. * Participate and Supervise month end and year-end inventories. * Supervise Material Handling personnel. * Manage material flow and storage capacity. * Manage fork truck check cards and institute fork truck safety and monitor adherence. * Manage all projects and complete assignments as directed by Materials Superintendent and Materials Manager. * Supports the comprehensive continual improvement philosophy. * Adheres to and follows the facility Quality Management System and the facility Environmental Management system requirements. * Ability to support all clerk responsibilities including acting as backup when necessary. * Performs job functions in accordance with all safety, legal and Company policies and direction. * Effectively communicates with supervisors and other departments to coordinate material flow and reduce cost. * Responsible for reducing department overhead cost where feasible. * Manage Shipping and Receiving functions including hours and operations. * Perform all time and attendance requirements for staff. * Follow all Collective Barganining Agreement terms and conditions with staff. * Time management, attention to detail and ability to problem solve are key to success in this position. Experience, Skills And/OR Abilities Required/Preferred: * Four-year degree in Operations, Supply Chain or related business field is preferred. * 5-10 years experience as a Manager or Supervisor responsible for 25 or more employees is preferred. * Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred. * 1-4 years SAP experience is required. * Strong leadership abilities with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to overcome challenges are required. * Effective teambuilding and decision making skills are required. * Effective professional communication and people skills are required. * Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills are required. * Ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus to deliver expected results is required. * Ability to motivate and drive new ideas is required. * Lean manufacturing skills are preferred. * Data analysis and computer skills are required. * Good working knowledge of IATF or TS-16949 audits and requirements is preferred. * Union experience is preferred, but, not required.
