SUMMARY: This position is part of our Prepared Foods division. Our Materials Specialist is to add value to the company's bottom line by managing all materials used at a complex including all aspects of that usage. This position is responsible to aid in scheduling production of products by evaluating reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain ingredient and material inventory control.
Manage the procurement of goods and services.
Provide all required information to other departments.
Maintain and input required data into SAP BOM.
Minimize or eliminate variances.
Establish and maintain stocking levels.
Arrange for and schedule freight.
Coordinate shipments with plant needs considering economic order quantity.
Maintain business relationships with suppliers.
Manage the Purchase to Pay process.
Organize, coordinate, track and sometimes manage projects.
Support all Corporate Purchasing Policies.
Work to improve cost and pounds produced.
Track inbound loads of materials.
Coordinate product testing.
Ensure all products are run within the agreed code date specifications.
May offer administrative support to DC.
Other duties as assigned.
Overtime as required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Accounting and or Logistics preferred.
Experience: 2 years procurement or logistics preferred.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications. Experience with SAP preferred.
Communication Skills: Good verbal, math, and written communication skills.
Travel: 1-12 plus trips per year.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing-Walking-25%, Sitting-75%.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Working alone and with others.
Must reside in the United States to be considered.
