For Quoting responsibilities, Materials Specialist will work directly with Sales, Engineering, and Material department to assist in the quotations process and costing trends. The incumbent must have expertise in Build to Print, including plastics, sheet metal, sourcing, molding and manufacturing. Incumbent also has Scheduling responsibilities to include to plan and control appropriate levels of inventory investment to support production while achieving revenue, on-time delivery and inventory turn goals. Also responsible to plan material to support production and new product development activities in the Binghamton plant and ensure to maintain appropriate levels of work in process to support production

  • Match preferred supplier capabilities to customer specifications by demonstrating knowledge of electrical and mechanical commodities.

  • Understand, analyze, document and communicate contractual, technical and commercial terms and conditions relative to the company standard.

  • Follow up on outstanding quotations to secure orders, improve quotation process and measure effectiveness.

  • Ensures consistent, competitive and profitable material pricing.

  • Communicates and practices pricing strategies in support of ongoing sales efforts.

  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced and time sensitive environment

  • Maintain accurate documentation/paperwork and files to facilitate smooth transition to manufacturing sites

  • Plan and release orders to production to support the monthly output plan.

  • Works closely with own and other department personnel to determine ongoing planning needs as well as production schedule changes.

  • Responsible for MRP compliance.

  • Work with Buyers to resolve supply and delivery issues when necessary

Apprenticeship training in the Carpentry trade or training gained by completion of technical courses in the electrical trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. * Successful completion of the traineeship and the training program includes a total of 288 hours of trade-specific class room instruction, 45 hours of technical math course work, 45 hours of technical communications course work, and 15 hours of blueprint/schematic reading course work. Course work must be completed with an average of C or better. Additionally, successful completion of the traineeship also includes 4,000 hours of on-the-job training. Duties Description As directed, builds, repairs and installs such items as counters, cabinets, partitions, floors, doors, windows, building framework, roofs, and trim following verbal or written instructions utilizing the tools of the carpentry trade and following standard carpentry techniques. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Installs and repairs ceiling and floor tiles. * Performs general millwork, may build cabinets, furniture and other wooden items. * Maintain shop equipment and portable tools used in the trade. * Ability to lay out framing and construct components of building utilizing plans and drawings. * Construct Inspections of facilities to determine needs, recommend priorities, and method of repair. * Prepare sketches and material listings needed for completion of assigned tasks. * May supervise and instruct others in the construction and repair of structures. * May be required to work with a variety of materials in addition to wood. * Install and maintain doors, windows and associated hardware. * Requires daily travel within the district. * May require some travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects.
