The Materials Program Manager will serve as the cross-functional program manager responsible for materials revenue growth and campaigns to drive incremental adoption and utilization. This role is responsible for executing account and application-specific growth initiatives for customers across multiple target markets. By utilizing reporting, analytics and metrics, the Materials Program Manager will be responsible for successfully driving programs to educate clients, support new product launches, track account development metrics, and drive client retention, satisfaction and revenue within the client base.

As the Materials Program Manager, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Execute strategies, upsell/cross-sell campaigns and initiatives to accelerate applications, new product introductions and drive materials revenue growth.

  • Conduct trend analysis on buying behaviors and new product introductions.

  • Monitor, analyze and dissect revenue streams by product lines, accounts, segments, applications and territories.

  • Partner with marketing to deliver customer communication strategies for material campaigns.

  • Design and execute business development programs to educate and drive material adoption.

  • Coordinate application based content for onsite account workshops, targeted campaigns, quarterly webinars, and event presentations

  • Drive consumables education and training programs for regional managers, clients, partners and sales executives to increase usage and growth


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.

  • 3+ years of direct experience in business development, customer program management or go to market strategy development.

  • Exemplary communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate at all professional levels.


  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM reporting a plus

  • Key account management or sales management experience with proven record of quota attainment

  • Demonstrated work experience in Advanced Materials.

  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation.

  • Proven capacity in critical thinking, data analysis, and data-driven decision making.

  • Passion for efficiency; highly organized and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Up to 20% travel

Primary Responsibilities: * Plan & Mange commercial product development programs/projects using Agile Scrum methodology. * Have deep understanding of other project life cycles including waterfall and how to manage dependencies between Agile Scrum teams and waterfall life cycle projects. * Play the role of Scrum Master / RTE (Servant Leader) as required on projects. * Facilitate Scrum ceremonies as required * Manage scrum of scrum calls. * Plan/track all external team dependencies and help resolve bottle necks * Plan / support all Agile releases deployments including any alignment/approvals required for deployments of external dependent applications/products. * Act as an Execution lead closely partnering with the Product Manager & IT Delivery Owner to guide one agile release train * Work with other program leaders to drive the definition and refinement of the program backlog * Ensure cross-value stream coordination and collaboration * Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on program-level plans, progress and quality * Facilitate alignment dependencies between the program team and third parties, release managers, or between the team and other Scrum Teams * Work cross functionally to align strategy, methodology and execution * Coordinate delivery * Be well-versed with budget (capital & expense) management process and life cycle. * Have a clear understanding and support Initiation phases of programs including capital & technology committee presentations for the program. * Manage changes/approvals in accordance with program/business steering committees. * Develop and maintain a resource/workforce plan that aligns with allocated budget. * Participate/ support departmental forecast process as required. * Identify the key stake holders and manage the expectations of key stakeholders and take their support to help resolve bottlenecks. * Participates in or lead the program steering committee reviews and gate approvals * Actively manages the program scope, budget, risks, issues, deliverables, and schedule of individual program tasks, as well as timely reporting of program status * Facilitate ongoing key stake holder communication between Business, Finance, Operations, Product & Delivery teams. * Support weekly / monthly status reporting to key stake holders * Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences * Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches. * Understand and support MBO Metrics tracking / reporting. * Drive solutions to unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business * Facilitate/Participates in the development of IT delivery strategy. * Predict emerging customer needs and facilitate developing innovative solutions to meet them Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience * 8 years of Project Management experience in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 200) * 5 years of IT Project Management * 3 years of Agile/Scrum working experience * MS Power Point and Excel * Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise * Strong cross functional and enterprise program delivery experience * C-level interface and presentation skills * Ability to influence decisions from top down and bottom up * Solid analytical, problem-solving and systems analysis skills Preferred Qualifications: * Agile / Scrum certification * Lean, Six Sigma Experience (Green or Black belt) * Experience supporting program capital management life cycle * Proficiency in computer software such as Rally (CA Agile), PlanView, CA Clarity (PPM Optics) or MS Project * Strong financial forecasting/tracking and workforce planning skills on large programs * Experience in the agile maturity transformation of teams eg: CICD, ATDD, Dev Ops and Test automation * PMP Certification * Health care insurance background * Process implementation & re-engineering * Very strong understanding of Cloud technologies & architecture * Developing & tracking strong business cases & cost benefit analysis * Big 4 or Professional Services experience Technology Careers with Optum.
