Job Description:

The Materials Program Manager performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including materials planning, procurement, supply chain, customer service, etc.

  • Prepares material cost estimates, maintains and controls material budgets for assigned programs, and ensures on-time delivery performance.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.

  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment.

  • Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Exerts influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.

  • Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects.

  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Negotiates with suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years supply chain management experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years with a Master's degree.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.

  • 5 years of experience in Data Analytics.

  • 4 years of experience in Project Management.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience using MRP systems software.

  • Experience working in the US DOD manufacturing industry.

  • Understanding of industry principles, concepts, practices and standards along with a basic knowledge of the manufacturing process.

  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot tables, etc.

The role is responsible for program management of the SIRFC program development and production efforts. The program manager will be accountable for program execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This position will have a direct interface with customer, suppliers and stakeholder leadership. The role includes responsibility for guiding Harris' employees in their work and influencing them to deliver their best and to act within the Harris corporate values. The key responsibilities include: * Responsible for high-level relationship management; acts as client liaison. * Responsible for client satisfaction, maintaining client communication, and the overall management of the client relationship. * Responsible for managing the cost, schedule and technical performance requirements of a program through all phases from inception to completion. * Directs the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budget and financial terms/conditions of contract. * Ensures that all resources such as engineering, manpower, production and facilities are available to support the program. * Involved in defining program parameters or guiding internal research and development efforts in assigned field. * Works with enterprise lead, chief engineer, and customers to determine needs, requirements and new business opportunities. * Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. * Works to grow the client relationship by identifying new business opportunities. * Solves highly complex problems with significant business impact. * Interacts internally with management and customers on significant business matters. * Activities will also include the development and management of forecasts. * Candidate will participate in overall marketing strategies and business planning in support of Harris initiatives and strategic corporate business pursuits. As required, the candidate will lead and support planning for and involvement in applicable trade shows. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6+ years of Program Management experience. (4+ with MS degree) * 4+ years' experience in DoD program execution. * 3+ years' experience with integrated program scheduling. * Prior use of Earned Value Management processes. * Ability to travel as needed by the customer. * Active Secret security clearance. Preferred Additional Skills: * PMP certification. * Master's Degree in applicable field. * Understanding of the customer procurement processes and government funding approval. * Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion. * Able to provide/reinforce the credibility and commitment of Harris at appropriate executive levels within the customer community.
