Materials Planning Analyst

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

  • To forecast delivery against customer enquiries when customers' requirement is for delivery shorter than standard lead-time.

  • To communicate with customers to obtain required information, files, prints, etc. needed to process and complete the job.

  • To progress shop orders to meet delivery promises and advise the customer when dates cannot be met.

  • To determine the allocation of stock orders in the knowledge of differing priorities.

  • To intelligently manipulate the production plan in accordance with company procedures to optimise customer satisfaction and billings figures.

  • To maintain integrity of the shop tracking system in order to improve deliveries and lead-times.

  • To provide departmental reports from mainframe source data in order to fully inform key personnel within the organization.

  • To work, alongside production the handling of customer returns to ensure complaints / re-manufacture is handled with speed and efficiency.

  • To receive progress enquiries from outside vendors and investigate lead-time that is achievable so that the order may be obtained.

  • To Provide the Manager with relevant Strategic information as and when required.

  • Provide Strategic Purchasing with quantities and required dates to maintain delivery on time.

  • To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.

  • Any other reasonable task as may be requested from time to time.

What would you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics or currently enrolled is preferred.

  • Decides on best working practices and recommends improvements to the system where applicable.

  • Must be able to think creatively and logically and be able to work in detail without supervision.

  • Long periods of concentration and application are required together with attention to detail.

  • Contact with all departments, outside suppliers and customers. Close contact with Production, Vendors, Purchasing and Shipping.

VIEW JOBS 3/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-06T00:00 Materials Planning Analyst III Job Overview TE Connectivity is seeking a Materials Planner to support the NA Tech Center, which is part of the NA HEMS Engineering organization. The Tech Center is responsible for producing all prototype samples for external and internal customer demand in all three main technology categories for the TE HEMS group – Battery Solutions, Charging Solutions, and HV Terminals and Connectors. This position, reporting to the Director of Engineering, is responsible for inventory management, materials planning, and communication with internal and external customers. The role will include close co-ordination with project management, development engineering, purchasing, product management, and customer service. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities * Attend daily go meetings and take an active role in managing sample requests. * This role is the conduit for all sample requests that come into the sample shop. Manage the incoming requests and assign team members. Review the requests for completeness and work with the requestor to address discrepancies. All requests start and end with the Tech Center Materials Planner. * Enter requisitions to obtain components needed to fulfill customer orders. * Maintain a demand tracker and monitor due dates closely. Any past dues must be reviewed with the customer and addressed with the team. Identify and escalate demand concerns to the Tech Center team, Customer Service, and/or Project Management. * Track the shipment process and forward packing list information to customer service for invoicing when necessary. * Work with the finance team on debit notes for intercompany sample demands. The Tech Center also supports sample demands for EMEA and A/P regions. * Manage sample inventory and ensure the appropriate inventory levels for key and used often components. Check in / record incoming material on receiving log and record in the internal online system. All incoming materials should be labeled and stored in the proper location. * Work with the launch engineering team and product management on quarterly inventory audits. * There is another associate that supports this role. The main responsibilities of the other team member are supporting component procurement, processing incoming material, shipping, and kitting components to be delivered to the build area. This role will support in these areas as needed and based on workload leveling. Qualifications: * 5+ years' experience in a Supply Chain related position. * Bachelor's degree in related field or proven equivalent required. * Strong understanding of Material Resource Planning systems. * Exceptional analytical and planning skills. * Strong problem solving skills and ability to multitask. * Detail and results driven. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Strong organization skills. * Strong time management skills. * Ability to communicate effectively by written and verbal methods with global partners. * Self-motivated with high-level of initiative and strong work ethic. * Welcomes change and challenging responsibilities. * SAP Production Planning experience preferred. * APICS certification preferred. * Must be proficient in English language This job description is subject to change at any time.
