SUMMARY

The position is responsible to effectively plan, schedule, and coordinate production and raw materials to meet customer demand while maintaining material inventories and expediting the material flow from suppliers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements and to ensure on-time deliveries to customers.

  • Communicate with customers on a daily basis regarding order and shipping requirements, evaluate and analyze order volume, order backlog status and inventory levels to level load production equipment and achieve optimal run cycles/volumes .

  • Runs MRP daily and accurately assigns ship dates to orders based on material/machine/hours availability.

  • Reviews EOQ's and safety stock to drive effective inventory & productivity levels.

  • Reviews open order report daily and adjusts sales order quantities as required.

  • Communicates effectively with customer service on any delays affecting on-time delivery.

  • Reviews and tracks all jobs to ensure they are on time and the plant is level loaded.

  • Adjusts work order start dates and/or quantities to utilize resources effectively and efficiently.

  • Works closely with operations management to ensure adherence to plan and coordinate changes as needed.

  • Works directly with employees to resolve any scheduling issues.

  • Review raw material inventory to ensure sufficient levels are available to produce order requirements.

  • Order materials from suppliers. Determine type and quantity of materials and components required to maintain Production schedules. Work closely with suppliers to ensure that the company's supply needs are adequately met in a timely manner.

  • Sets up trucking to deliver raw materials as required and communicates scheduled delivery times to the Receiving Department.

  • Inform and advise the corporate buyer on material status and any problems with production due to materials.

  • Input material releases into computer system.

  • Work with program managers on the start-up of new jobs.

  • Maintain ISO/IATF requirements

  • Participate in safety program

  • Work within customer online portal

  • Back-up for Sr Production Planner and Materials Manager

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Production Management or 8 years equivalent materials experience,
  • Or High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required along with minimum 8 years progressive movement in a process manufacturing environment.

Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Experience in working with MRP, BAAN and other inventory systems. Competent in working with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Thorough understanding of throughput production methods

  • Strong analytical skill set

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Working knowledge of blanking and laser welding operations.

  • APICS Certification preferred

The Warehouse Associate II could be responsible for some or all of the tasks listed The Warehouse Associate II could be responsible for some or all of the tasks listed below. The individual could be responsible for supplying work cells and customer order processing areas with product to complete work required and meet customer demands. Picking product is completed by using an RF device on an order picker truck at heights up to nineteen feet. Tasks (Description of main tasks): * Maintain productivity standards * Accurately pick product as system directed by SAP EWM using an RF device * Perform daily safety inspections on material handling equipment * Transfer packaging inventory in an undirected mode for production areas * Adhere to company safety regulations * Clean assigned areas daily and abide by 5S standards This position could also be tasked to assist Warehouse Associate I with the following: * Package and label parts per customer instructions, ensuring documentation is accurate * Maintain customer order progress through SAP EWM (Warehouse management system) * Responsible for processing orders or packing products per KPI (Key Performance Indicators) requirements * Maintain production order accuracy while exhibiting cooperation and communication skills * Perform self-inspections while adhering to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices * Know and understand the specifications of the Quality Policy and Procedures and contributes to the achievement of the quality objectives * Receive production order requirements from boxing lead and complete orders as required by production standards * Prepare incoming skids by cutting open cases, removing trash and making case boxes In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his/her superior that are essentially related to his/her duties. Formal prerequisites for the position (e.g. training, experience, education etc.) * High School Diploma or equivalent * Strong computer skills and mechanical aptitude * Ability to pay significant attention to detail, self-motivated, ability to function as a team member in a group environment, and communicate with all levels of the department and organization * Ability to lift, bend, twist, and move up to 60 lbs. repetitively * Use team lift approach as a temporary measure for heavy or bulky objects * Dexterity to assemble component parts and boxes * Previous warehouse and material handling experience * Conduct yourself in a professional manner * Willingness and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment * Prior experience driving an Order Picker or Reach Truck Schaeffler is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans LUK Inc Valley City OH
