Materials Management Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the receiving department personnel, and the operation of all incoming raw materials and MRO Items. Additional responsibilities are listed below:
Ensures that incoming inspections are properly completed, and material is placed in the appropriate areas for use in manufacturing.
Oversees the management of IDG Services for MRO maintenance and replenishment.
Direct accountability for managing and supervising the raw material coordinator(s), ensuring that adequate raw material and packaging inventories are maintained for the N.A. manufacturing locations (Gloucester and Mojave), and consistently meeting the requirements for the manufacturing and customer's; ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Responsible for assisting with physical inventory, reviewing all raw material variances, and working with finance department to achieve site goals.
Facilitates and accountable for Mojave's cycle counting program for all raw materials and finished goods on site; takes appropriate actions to rectify any issues and implements corrective actions.
Responsible for implementing Global sourcing contracts (services and equipment) for Mojave, Gloucester and Burbank.
Responsible for Global Packing Compliance by managing packaging supplier and ensuring all packages are Performance Oriented Packaging (POP) approved.
Participate with negotiations, bids, and executing agreements that benefit PPG by improving overall quality and cost.
Responsible for participating in vendor/customer relations through continuous improvement projects (Vendor Owned and Managed Inventory VOMI).
Responsible for leading aged and non-conforming raw material teams, and meeting site-goals on reduction and continuous improvement.
Responsible for tracking and reporting vendor on-time performance of suppliers and ensure necessary actions are taken to achieve desired service levels.
Assist R&T with ensuring master list of qualified suppliers for purchased and out-sourced products are accurate and updated.
Works with QA to resolve quality-related service and packaging issues with suppliers. Acts as mentor and coach.
Responsible for professional and ethical actions while dealing with supplier and business associates.
Responsible for 5S standards to be maintained in all areas of accountability to agreed upon levels.
Responsible for Mojave VOMI consignment reconciliation.
Responsible for coordination and purchase of toll outsourced raw materials from WM Barr and Accurate Coatings. Will work with Planning on safety stock levels and expedite requests.
Manages and establishes planning data on raw materials, including doing economic analysis of raw material purchase quantities to optimize cost versus trading working capital levels.
Experience and Education
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in purchasing and/or inventory management is required. Must have at least five years experience in sourcing, purchasing, and/or related field. APICS certification preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English in written and verbal form. Must be computer proficient with Microsoft office and MRP. Must be proficient and accurate in Mathematics. Problem solving and negotiation skills required.
