Materials Manager to manage the planning group as well as logistics and shipping / receiving to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met. Through leading their team, the successful candidate will insure materials availability for production operations, provide leadership to drive the group to optimal inventory utilization, material velocity, customer satisfaction of delivery and quality, and best practices to meet the needs of the business. This will be accomplished through the management of the team to establish planning and stocking strategies, lead the SIOP process, planning techniques, and development of KPI's.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Driving inventory optimization by implementing best practices while satisfying customer demands and business targets includes WIP / E&O reduction and FG strategies.
Ensuring policy deployment objectives for material inventory utilization, material velocity, and on-time delivery are satisfied.
Providing appropriate material availability to meet customer demands and revenue targets.
Establishing and maintaining MPS and finished goods inventory policies and best practices.
Deploy and execute Materials Management Maturity Assessments and Materials Management Organization Assessments and develop actions to develop teams and close gaps.
Deploy and execute ERP Health Assessments to ensure ERP/MRP accuracy and actions to close gaps.
Creating standard work planning and materials functions.
Analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepare market analysis. Calculating capacity and demand variation using simulation analysis.
Establishing Skills Matrix & Performance Metrics.
Reporting metrics such as; arrears, customer OTD, inventory, etc.
Maintaining inventory integrity and implement cycle count monitoring.
Overseeing all activities related to material management.
Identifies and leads Continuous Improvement events.
Develops Kanban pull systems and lean manufacturing processes.
Arranges for the disposal of surplus and obsolete materials.
Establishes KPI's to measure material performance
Ability to mentor and coach teams to drive results
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mfg. Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering or technical related discipline.
Minimum 15 year's experience in manufacturing operations at any level.
Minimum 10 year's experience in materials management.
Experience in both ERP/MRP systems specifically around materials management.
Experience in coaching and mentoring teams that drive results.
Ability to identify gaps and develop new processes to drive improvement.
Strong knowledge of Lean practices including VMI and Kanban inventory programs.
Exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful candidate regularly interacts with teams on matters concerning several functional areas. Requires the ability to change the thinking of and/or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without negatively effecting day-to-day operations.
Proven ability to embrace and implement new and varied material management approaches
Experience in developing best practices, processes, and KPI's in regard to materials management and material velocity.
Experience deploying and maintaining a SIOP process including demand management, supply management, and inventory control.
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Experience deploying key lean concepts including visual metrics and inventory management techniques to balance free cash flow and customer service metrics including Lean Six Sigma certification.
APICS CPIM certification or other materials qualification or experience in a world-class operation knowing what "good" looks like
Vantage and or Syteline experience desirable
Technical: MS Office, Project Mgt tools experience is a plus
Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or in paper format.
