Position Summary

Provide leadership for material planning, scheduling, and inventory control. Work with suppliers, operations, purchasing, planners, IT and other functions to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers from procurement to delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead the logistics team including shipping, receiving, and stockroom. Manage procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price negotiation and compliance with government procurement regulations.

Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery to support a supply chain management strategy. Ensure all the location/division's material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation. Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives including common part numbers, supplier managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction and supplier quality certifications.

Advise on supplier managed inventory or supplier-based contracts with customers. Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement or inventory control functions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required. Four or more years of related experience including at least two years of leadership experience required.

Requires practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations support, including related systems and reports (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems). General knowledge of applicable government regulations (e.g. manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety) highly preferred.
