What you'll do

  • Lead and sustain a dedicated, capable, and engaged team though development and strict adherence to our core values: Safety, Quality, Teamwork, Integrity and Customer Satisfaction.

  • Responsible for the overall production material planning, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, and scheduling activities to maximize schedule adherence, customer service and delivery.

  • Lead the organization in attending key metrics including working capital, inventory turns, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence.

  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, material control and scheduling.

  • Manage and flex material demand and flow through Pulling Systems and MRP allowing for fluctuation in forecast and managing the growth of the business while ensuring the timely availability of components.

  • Responsible for a formalized inventory cycle count control system to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity and work to continuously improve them.

  • Manage the shipping and receiving functions of the warehouse and the storage of purchased parts and finished goods and ensure inbound/outbound freight activities operate efficiently and effectively.

  • Manage tactical supplier relationships and work with the procurement team to manage and develop supply chain and key suppliers.

  • Develop targets, systems and procedures for balancing optimal inventory levels with customer availability and market leading lead times.

  • Champion lean activity in direct support and relationship to facility lean direction and business needs.

  • Demonstrate personal commitment to a safety and quality culture, establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results, and identify and address general root causes to safety and quality problems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of supply chain/materials/procurement management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

  • Experience with management systems, performance management, financial planning and strategy, process improvement and quality systems.

  • Experience using MRP systems, and knowledgeable in routings and BOM applications.

  • Proficient utilization of MS office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operational Engineering, Supply Chain or Business.

  • A thorough knowledge of product costing, budget planning and make/buy analysis.

  • Experience with Syteline.

Position Summary: The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met by purchasing necessary materials and ensuring product arrives at plant(s) in a timely manner. In addition, this position is responsible for managing the procurement process for respective categories, from planning product purchases to ensuring conforming product is received. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Plan and execute purchase orders with vendors for raw materials and supplies, confirming price and delivery * Maintain appropriate reorder points on raw materials * Update purchasing records for price and other changes * Develop and execute plans to meet or exceed inventory targets * Assist in requesting quotes and sourcing new suppliers * Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product is available for production, new product launches and promotions * Lead, assist and participate with productivity projects as opportunities present themselves or as assigned * Develop and maintain MRP systems * Perform additions, general updates and overall maintenance in the system * Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality control, distribution capabilities and the suppliers historical performance * Provide analytical data related to supplier performance * Other projects or duties as assigned. Preferred Skills and Experience: * Previous experience working in a warehouse environment Required Skills and Experience: * 2 to 4 years previous work experience in a production/warehouse/manufacturing environment * Minimum 1 year direct experience material planning within the manufacturing industry. Experience with manufactured goods. Experience in CPG highly preferred. * High school diploma or GED required. * Ability to work 1st shift: 5am -1:30pm – Shift & start times could vary * Ability to work in a fast paced environment. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Effective interpersonal skills. * Proficient at expediting product to plant as required. * Strong project management skills; planning and executing. * High analytical capability with excellent organizational skills. * Strong PC software application knowledge using SAP/CONA, Excel, Work, Access and PowerPoint.
