JOB TITLE: Materials Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is promoting its Material's Manager and they need to backfill the position with a talented leader, preferably with an automotive supplier background. You will oversee purchasing, scheduling, customer service and shipping. This division, in the Madison area, has about 375 employees. They are experts in precision metal fabrication. You will report to the Plant Manager.
Duties:
o Oversee negotiations of price & delivery schedules for steel and other materials.
o Reduce all inventories with better use of our computer integrated manufacturing system and pull system.
o Oversee evaluation of supplier approval process and performance.
o Oversee the scheduling of all production in consultation with other departments
o Customer service and review schedule changes with customers if needed
o Maintain and improve inventory record accuracy.
o Updates company contact information for customers
o Lead 6 direct and 6 indirect within the Materials Management Dept.
o Ensure budgetary integrity is maintained to include ensuring all purchasing advantages are exercised to maximize profitability of the company.
o Train and evaluate department personnel as necessary and required

REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. or similar degree in Business, Production Control, Materials Mgt. or other related field.
Must enjoy a fast-paced, every changing work environment; the majority of their clients are automotive
Ability to interface with clients on a regular and productive basis
Experience in purchasing functions
Supervisory experience
Scheduling experience
Demonstrated Inventory control knowledge

The Materials Specialist ensures accuracy of labeling and proper storage of incoming receipts, including receipt in the inventory management system. The position is Friday to Sunday, 3/12 and must be available for 24 hour rotating on-call schedule. The Materials Specialist role is a crucial component to Catalent's Patient First philosophy. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to customer timelines by managing the supply of raw materials used within the cGMP space. By filling this role with the ideal candidate, we will be able to continue to maintain regulatory compliance within our Supply Chain pursuant to our goal of delivering products and services of the highest quality to our customers in a timely manner. The Role * Follows SOPs for incoming receipt, quarantine/release processes, supplies ordering, work order management, inventory control (including management of expired items), inventory management system transactions, warehouse management, cycle counting and shipments as appropriate. * Initiates all Quality Assurance (QA) release documentation for critical materials and as needed, will support QA in the release of materials. * Manages and prepares all domestic and international ambient and temp controlled shipments for delivery. * Management of all work orders which includes printing, timely picking and staging of all materials, issuing materials to and closing work orders upon completion. * Picks and stages all materials for the site on a FEFO basis for use in production and labs. The Candidate * High school diploma or equivalent * cGMP experience preferred * Computerized inventory management system/MRP experience preferred * DOT and IATA training preferred.
