Maintains adequate inventory levels throughout the campus by requisitioning, receiving, unpacking, repacking, stocking, and delivering supplies. Monitors, fills, and delivers requested items; accurately records data related to issues and credits; performs tasks as appropriate in a customer focused service environment; maintains all portable patient care equipment and traction, initiates repair procedures for those items; performs other duties as assigned.# Routinely verifies supply levels for various areas across the organization and proactively initiates orders to replenish, as necessary. Receives supplies, reconciling items and verifies amounts received against appropriate paperwork. Receives and efficiently #transfers bulk and/or palletized supplies to appropriate areas throughout Materials Management, in accordance with existing stock rotation and replenishment procedures. Assists in maintaining accurate inventories by recording accurate item descriptions, amounts of issues, issue unit, and credits.# Completes all forms legibly and precisely. Monitors telephone/telefax and written requests; accurately records pertinent information; fills and delivers in accordance with stated performance and customer focused service goals. Actively serves as a resource person for clinical areas when special supply requests arise or complaints of malfunctioning equipment. Properly sorts and accurately records items returned for credit; returns these items to designated storage areas. Participates in physical inventory procedures and cart revisions,as required. On a rotating basis reviews computerized usage reports for each nursing unit or department within


the exchange cart system


; ascertains low and high usage rates of supplies per cart and adjusts standards accordingly. Consults with a supervisor or the manager frequently regarding supply revisions and obtains authorization for same. Professionally assembles new or totally revised supply carts; executes simple additions or subtractions to carts already in service. Retrieves used items from clinical areas according to schedule; routes items to decontamination area for proper cleaning. Consistently #follows appropriate dress code in accordance with regulatory agencies for decontamination. Consistently adheres to standard precautions. Manually cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and traction between patient use; discards and replaces all disposable components; replaces parts such as filters, cartridges, etc. as indicated.# Identifies malfunctioning equipment, labels appropriately and routes to appropriate department# for repair. #Routes equipment to the Biomedical department for preventative maintenance according to schedule. #Executes minor repairs; replaces malfunctioning parts on blood pressure equipment. Cleans and maintain traction equipment and carts, including assembling and removing overbed frames; controls and restocks traction carts; maintains an orderly traction storage area. Bariatric overbed frames are the exception and they are put up and removed by the Engineering department. #Consistently uses equipment and supplies safely and without waste. Maintains an orderly and clean environment, assisting in housekeeping tasks as assigned. Communicates in a courteous and appropriate manner to co-workers, visitors, and patients maintaining patient confidentiality and customer focus at all times. Requirements:
