Under the direct supervision of the Materials Management Supervisor, The Material Handler will assist in ordering and receiving supplies and assuring they are distributed to the end user in a timely manner. The Material Handler will also assist in the distribution of mail as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delineate the specific responsibilities. Know that what you state here may be somewhat repeat of the previous section and should also overlap with the information you note in the next section

  • Verifies exact count and inspects all incoming parcels at the time of receipt from shipper before signing any and all bills of lading

  • Receives and checks incoming supplies promptly. Checks deliveries against various receiving documents (PO, packing lists, etc.) to determine that quantity and quality received are in exact agreement with those ordered and to ensure you don't receive expired goods from the vendor

  • Maintains par levels, set by management, to ensure that stock is available of all medical products for the nursing staff. Par level changes must be approved by Nursing and Materials Management

  • All par areas must be properly labeled with item number and description along with the par levels

  • Completes electronic receiving and notes appropriate receipt number in the MMIS system thereby certifying that the items received are in the quality and the quantity specified

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven good computer skills

  • Proven ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis despite frequent interruptions

  • Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in receiving and distribution

  • Proven ability to lift heavy packages of up to 75 pounds

  • Proven ability to communicate with all levels of staff

  • Proven ability to maintain assigned areas by using a variety of equipment and cleaning materials

  • Proven ability to transport equipment and supplies of various sizes and weights throughout the Practice

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $16.00 to $23.94 per hour.
