Responsibilities

Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or project to project basis. Adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors. Reacts to variations in the workplace and maintains a balance workload between subordinates. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Observe work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems within groups supervised, and coordinate work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress to meet schedules. Support and explain management problems to their subordinates. Recommend performance ratings, training, disciplinary actions, changes in performance standards, and the most suitable applicants for vacancies. Performs non-supervisory work, such as, transporting equipment, performing maintenance tasks, etc. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E7 or above

Compatible Military Assignments: ENL: 25B, 36B, 51C, 88M, 88N, 89A, 89B, 92A, 92F, 92G, 92Y

Quality of Experience

  • Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

TITLE Coordinator, Logistics LOCATION Havre de Grace, MD REPORTS TO Logistics Manager POSITION SUMMARY This position will be responsible for the support services for the HDG warehouse. Including appointment setting, customer service, order shipping material and ingredient replenishment and vendor relations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Accurately manage carrier appointments for delivery and receiving of finished goods. * Perform daily tasks to facilitate warehouse process management. * Communicate with customer service and carriers to complete customer returns. * Analyze WMS data to determine root cause of shortages and overages. * Responsible for inventory control of warehouse and production supplies. * Optimize Logistics of the plant by providing metric and value-added analysis for Plant Leadership * Streamline, standardize and improve logistics, operational data gathering and processing of materials. * Maintain and/or Set-up transportation service companies to deliver materials or pick up of finished goods. * Lead root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and identify opportunities for system and process improvements, * Supply Chain Resource and Support for HdG daily Operations * Establish continues improvement processes and culture to ensure that supply chain maintains Smucker quality status. * Drive the vision that delivers operational excellence, resulting in world class customer service efficiency. * Provide backup coverage for Plant Logistics team and production planning support as needed * Other tasks as required SELECTION CRITERIA Education * High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
