Materials/Chemical Engineer:

The successful candidate will interact with engineers across functions to select design and manufacturing applications for polymer materials selection and processing for aerospace and DOD products.

Activities include: recommend materials and processes, write specifications, ensure compliance of materials with internal, customer, and environmental requirements, review supplier designs, provide input to and review of engineering drawings, conduct failure investigations, write reports, develop and conduct test plans for strength and fluid compatibility properties of materials, and support the disposition of materials with quality questions. The position requires interfacing with internal and external customers as well as suppliers, strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills, and safe lab working practices.

Experience with requirements for space flight hardware is required. A general knowledge of polymer processing is required. A specialization in composites or adhesives is preferred

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Chemical Engineering or Material Science is required. MS preferred.

Experience: 5 years minimum, 10+ preferred

US Citizenship is required.
