Role Summary:

Renewable Energy LM Wind Power seeks a talented, flexible and committed materials engineer to work within material qualification engineering for wind turbine blades. In this role, you will develop our process material technology base by introducing advanced solutions, and will act as the technical lead, finding / investigating new products and technologies on the market in direct communication with suppliers.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Materials Engineer will play a key role in the development, qualification and implementation of process materials and technologies, and will understand / communicate critical aspects of process materials in all stages of manufacturing and in their various applications. Together with a cross-functional team, the Materials Engineer seeks to optimize the balance between three key business aspects of quality, cost and performance through evaluation, testing, documentation and implementation.

As the Materials Engineer, you will:

  • Spend time with our laboratory technicians to develop components and test methods

  • Be involved / lead plant trials and the global implementation of the new technology and/or improvements

  • Be involved in general quality improvement in the factories, where a hands-on mentality is key

  • Maintain material specifications and associated documentation

  • Collaborate with our LM material testing lab

  • Participate as a commodity team member, defining and executing the global commodity strategy for process materials

  • Contribute to / execute the departmental material development strategy to support the product platforms and technology road-map

  • Work cross functionally within engineering and externally with Sourcing and Quality

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed (minimum of 30 days per year)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited university or college with experience in manufacturing

  • Applies knowledge by establishing a robust supply chain within process materials in collaboration with sourcing and quality

  • Global perspective and drive towards striking an optimum balance between cost, quality and performance

  • Excellent communicator between functions / cultures that works well across departments and time zones

  • Analytical / scientific mindset combined with a pragmatic hands-on mentality

  • Practical experience with manufacturing processes of composite products

  • Understanding of / ability to apply lean six sigma principles or equivalent

  • Experience with process material characterization and testing

  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English

ROLE PURPOSE As a Field Service Technician, you are the face of Glory Global Solutions. You will be responsible for the direct management of all aspects of total customer service and care with our clients. You will work independently to troubleshoot and repair a variety of high speed cash-handling equipment; tracking and management of parts/tools; and staying abreast of changes in technical and functional elements of Glory Global Solutions equipment. While some computer knowledge is required, this position is focused electro-mechanical repair. The ideal candidate may possess some PC knowledge. However, this position is not intended for IT or help desk professionals. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure overall customer satisfaction * Diagnose system problems and make repairs * Keep customer apprised of progress during maintenance or a down system situation * Document system problems and preventative maintenance in customer site log * Gather and record machine information to monitor performance * Complete machine installations, Engineering Change Notices that affect system upgrades, and Hardware /Software upgrades that may require technical assistance * Make recommendations for improving the service, reliability, and performance of our equipment * Escalate difficult technical problems by seeking timely advice or assistance from technical support * Establish preventative maintenance schedules and implement according to company specifications * Any other job responsibilities as assigned within scope of position REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Education Level: * Currently enrolled in or completed professional studies in electro-mechanics, electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience * Certificates in related fields, i.e. mechanics, electronics, automation, data processing preferred Qualifications: * Excellent customer service and communication skill * Working knowledge of personal computers especially Microsoft Office, navigation across network sites and email communication * Logical trouble shooting skills and capability to isolate problems at PCB or component level * Ability to effectively work with electric schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings * Understanding of AC/DC power distribution and digital/analog circuitry * Trained in the maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical machines * Experience repairing high-speed paper handling machines such as check sorters, mail sorters, currency sorters; ATM's or copier machines experience is preferred * 3-5 years of technical field service repair experience preferred, i.e. aviation, medical equipment, vending machine repair, and/or military repair experience * Hold a Valid Driver's License REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * A company van is provided and you will drive from your home daily to our customer sites.
