  • Butler is looking for a Materials Coordinator who will report to the Materials Manager and be responsible for providing materials support to achieve safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for using internal procedures to perform the following

  • Prepare shipping documents (ie. BOL's, shippers, load sheets, etc.)

  • Prepare bar code labels for shipments

  • Process material receipts according to procedures.

  • Responsible for packaging related items

  • Entering and maintaining packaging information in customer portals

  • Verifying customer packaging floats and maintaining Multimatic customer supplied dunnage inventory

  • Maintain internal packaging in SAP

  • Oversee container maintenance

  • Initiating and auditing packaging instructions

  • Using fleet calculators to determine internal and external fleets

  • Ordering all cardboard required for the plant

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports directly to the Materials Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with Production, Operations, IT and Quality. Also interfaces on an as needed basis with HR, Finance, Engineering and Maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have proficient PC skills, including the ability to create and interpret spreadsheets and word processing documents. Current experience working with materials management software is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years' experience in materials working in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Good computer skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office software.

  • Ability to assume responsibility and corresponding authority and accountability. Results oriented.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

SUMMARY This position is responsible for the continuous development and effective implementation of the organization's Environmental, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures for our BUTLER, IN plant. The EHS Coordinator is responsible for having an effective workplace environmental, health and safety program and culture in place. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Provides professional knowledge and expertise in the coordination and support of Environmental, Health and Safety processes. * Stay current on existing and proposed environmental, health and safety regulations while providing recommendations for changes to current policies / practices based on new or revised regulations; provide details on regulations through research, case studies, and letters of interpretation; provide advice concerning compliance, laws, codes, regulations, best practices and standards. * Maintain a level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness to create a culture that prioritizes effective safety practices to reflect a commitment to an illness and injury free workplace. * Monitor standards, processes, communications and training to help ensure a safe workplace. * Conduct and lead Plant Safety Committee. * Evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices in order to help ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. * Maintain safety plans and policies to correct unsafe behaviors and work conditions by utilizing knowledge or industrial processes and mechanics, health and safety laws, best practices, and environmental compliance; advise management of the effectiveness of these programs, the need for corrective action or preventive action, and implications of related laws and regulations. * Maintain effective environmental, health and safety programs that comply with relevant standards for EH&S programs (OSHA, IOSHA, ISO 14001 and IATF) and the Company's management system requirements; create and maintain process documentation including process flow charts, policies, work instructions, forms and records as appropriate. * Complete required environmental reports in a timely manner. * Help prepare and retain emergency response plan and procedure. * Assist Supervisors and HR Department maintaining records of incidents or accidents and lead investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions. * Administer and maintain Worker's Compensation processes & procedures. * Partner with local medical facilities for plant tours and understanding the plant's processes, work environment and job functions. * Conduct audits, drills, and measurements to measure and test the effectiveness of the programs and verify compliance with regulatory and Company policies; recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures. * Conduct training for employees for emergency actions, hazard communication, powered industrial trucks, crane, lock out tag out, use of safety equipment, health and safety topics; coordinate required training with new employee orientation to ensure compliance with training requirements. * Maintain confidentiality of personal employee and or confidential company information; adhere to laws and government regulations relating to privacy protection standards in the workplace. QUALIFICATIONS * Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA / Environmental laws and regulations for Indiana. * Proven ability to determine root causes of accidents and implement corrective actions. * Broad knowledge of environmental, health & safety principles, best practices and procedures. * Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. * Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet and Microsoft Office suite of software. * Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills. * Proven ability to work as a member or a team and as a team leader. * Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.Minimum - Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene, or similar equivalent degree.
