Responsible for the management of material flow and maintaining control and accuracy over all inventories; including cycle counting, warehousing, and material movements from receipt to stock. With respect to the stockroom the incumbent will manage and support a place for everything and everything in its place.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for inventory accuracy by developing, implementing and managing an inventory control system capable of identifying discrepancies through a systematic Cycle Count process; defining root causes and taking corrective action to minimize future inconsistencies. Manages transactions in company's ERP system, validating that materials are properly received, dispositioned, monitored, back flushed, and invoiced properly.

Drives lean initiatives to include proper management and maintenance of Point of Use, Super Market and Kanban processes. Recommends, develops and maintain inventory accuracy metrics. Develops and implements policies, procedures and best practices related to processes that support materials control.

Works with the Materials team to create and sustain a measurement system for supplier performance. Works closely with Production Management, Purchasing, Material Handlers and Buyer/Planners to ensure Production Schedule is met. Participates in timely management and disposition of scrap, excess, slow moving, or obsolete inventory.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in materials supervision within an industrial equipment manufacturing environment. Previous production supervision, implementing Lean principles to include elements of Kanban signals, cycle counting, daily deliveries, inventory at point of use, Kaizen events, takt-time, balanced flow process, visual factory, empowered team meetings, total safety, standardize work and world class 5S standards a+.

Strong technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes are required in this role as this position is responsible for identifying VA/VE and labor reduction opportunities, providing proactive RCA and corrective actions, and supporting internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES * Supports manufacturing of commercial water heater and boiler products; supported areas include, but are not limited to: reviewing for new product launch, prototyping and fixture development, interfacing with production assembly processes and employees, and utilizing the standard ECN process to control Bills of Materials and Engineering Drawings * Acts as a project manager by leading initiatives, establishing timelines and activity schedules, tracking resources expended and routinely reporting progress to stakeholders * Interacts with outside agencies to maintain regulatory listing compliance (UL, ASME, etc.) * Validates engineering solutions using CAD modeling, simulation, and hands-on testing * Mentors early-in-career engineers as well as continuously strives for professional development through researching industry trends and completing technical training and coursework as needed EDUCATION: * Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline MANAGEMENT: * No Direct Reports EXPERIENCE * Either a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline * 7+ years experience in an engineering capacity with a proven record of leading successful projects as well as demonstrated technical depth * Experience working with a variety of components including castings, molded plastic, sheet metal, fabricated parts, etc. * Experience using 2D and 3D CAD systems and simulation tools (Solidworks preferred) * Industry experience with HVAC systems, electro-mechanical products, or combustion control systems preferred * Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred * Ability to apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science to engineering solutions * A propensity for problem-solving and continuous improvement * Good interpersonal skills and a team mindset to work towards shared goals * Project management skills including activity scheduling, resource tracking, and scope development * Highly developed soft skills including decision making and oral, written, and presentational communications * Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office software * Numerical analysis skills and proficiency in coding languages is a plus * Travel Required: 10% or less WORKING CONDITIONS This role performs responsibilities in both a typical business office environment as well as on the manufacturing shop floor.
