Job Description:

Analyzes backlog, potential and related inventories to order and expedite the delivery of purchased/fabricated parts, raw materials, nonproductive supplies, equipment and assemblies to meet customer schedules and emergencies; determines availablilty of items or an acceptable source of supply or substitution by analyzing blueprints and other technical data when required; consults with Manufacturing, Engineering, Tooling, Quality Assurance, Planning, Procurement, etc. to recommend and obtain authorization to effect material changes or substitutions to alleviate all types of shortages, and ensure the flow of materials through Manufacturing and Quality Assurance; investigates the cause of chronic shortages, delays and similar critical problems in the manufacture of tools, parts and assemblies and initiates appropriate corrective action; requests transportation or handling equipment to transport materials to and from shop areas; loads, unloads and moves materials as required, utilizing proper material handling procedures, and exercising a knowledge of Company facilities and location of parts, materials, equipment and tools stored within stockrooms, stores and cribs; adjusts and maintains inventory balances as required and initiates return of unused parts.

Controls the release of fabrication orders to shop departments in sufficient quantity to maintain level load conditions, subject to limits imposed by amount and nature of work available, considering such factors as shop capacity and schedule requirements, and exercising a basic knowledge of the respective machine capacities, manpower requirements, operation sequences, and related commodities applicable to fabrication control; investigates possible rework or temporary fabrication of purchased parts by initiating unplanned shop orders to work around material shortages.

Operates a computer workstation and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and inventory control systems.

Must possess a valid California driver's license and be able to operate stick-shift vehicles.

PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:

Prepares all required reports and forms, and performs other related clerical duties.

Operates state-of-the-art and conventional office and warehouse equipment such as ground-controlled overhead cranes, hoisting equipment, electric forklifts, tugs and scooters.

Must possess and maintain certifications required by the Company or governmental agencies.

Must demonstrate a knowledge or have successfully completed training in Blueprint Reading I.

Performs various heavy manual tasks in support of the duties described herein.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of Six months of experience in material handling/inventory control systems.

Must possess a valid California driver's license and be able to operate stick-shift vehicles.

Must demonstrate a knowledge or have successfully completed training in Blueprint Reading I.

Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Budget and Material Analyst to assist with Business activities associated with the Restricted Programs Operating Unit. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA or at Edwards AFB, CA. This position reports to the Business Manager and partners with the Program Management team to establish strategy; prioritize requirements and achieve financial goals while ensuring the integrity of business processes. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below. Responsibilities/Duties: * Prepares financial plans, prepares regular and special-purpose reports, maintains historical records, analyzes trends, establishes cost rates and material forecasts, prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds, and determines rationale for variances between costs and budget. * Compiles and reviews material budgets for corporate or organizational units using proposal forecasts, actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration. * Interfaces with Program Management team and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to ensure material requests are submitted, processed, and fulfilled in a timely manner. * Supports small to medium sized programs under general supervision. Basic Qualifications: * This requisition may be filled as either a Budget & Material Analyst or Principal Budget & Material Analyst * Minimum 7 years of related experience with a High School Diploma/GED; 3 years with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline; or 1 year with a Master's degree (Principal Budget & Material Analyst level requires 10 years with HS Diploma/GED, 6 years with a Bachelor's; or 4 years with a Master's degree) * Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel * Demonstrated experience with material management * U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Clearance (obtained or refreshed within the past 6 years) * Position is contingent upon being able to obtain special program clearance within 12 months of hire Preferred Qualifications: * Working knowledge of EVMS * Experience with Maximo, SAP * Active Top Secret Clearance (obtained or refreshed within the past 6 years) Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
