What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.


  • Operation of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), to include pallet jacks, clamp trucks, sit down forklifts, reach trucks, and other forms of equipment as necessary to perform duties such as:

  • Unloading freight

  • Stock Put Away

  • Order Picking

  • Pallet load-out

  • Use of RF Gun for:

  • Order picking

  • Creating Pallet Labels

  • Bulk Location entries/deletes

  • Hand unloading product

  • Conduct daily cycle count activities using RF gun

  • Conduct replenishment/restock activities using RF gun

  • Operation of automated pallet wrapping machine

  • Aisle Audits

  • Processing Small Package shipments

  • Manual wrapping of pallets with shrink wrap

  • Maintain/Improve Housekeeping standards

  • Assembly of corrugate Gaylords and manual banding of shipments

  • Follow proper documentation practices

  • Meet or exceed standards for quality, safety, attendance, and productivity

  • Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or GED required some college preferred

  • 1-3 years of previous experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft office

  • Good written communication skills

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility

  • maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications

  • Works on assignments that are moderatly difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues

  • May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments

  • Adheres to all quality guidelines

  • Works with limited supervision. Work occassionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor

  • May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Perform all the duties and responsibilities of a claim Specialist I. 2. Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve first or third party Property and Casualty claims of a more serious and complex nature than a Claim Specialist I. 3. May be required to provide technical support for less experienced Specialists. 8. Perform other tasks as assigned. EDUCATION: Four year degree or equivalent experience preferred. EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years Insurance claims experience preferred.
