Job Description

This position will perform ongoing analysis and improvements in the process associated with internal material movements across operations. Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure that material management processes work in concert with operations.

The ideal candidate for a Material Process Engineer would be able to do the following:

  • Create standard operating procedures supporting material management.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing areas to design processes that support the timely movement of materials, material identification, shop order processing, and ensure optimum inventory levels.

  • Participate in cross functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of productivity, methods, processes, and quality.

  • Work closely with the CI, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering Teams to support transformation and kaizen projects.

  • Develops ROP's, 2 bin systems, kanbans, and processes to support pull replenishment strategies.

  • Continuously evaluates flow of stockroom, warehouse, and off-site warehouse, considering volume, size, weight, and related factors of items stored and consumed based on current business parameters.

  • Support the creation and analysis of Performance Metrics within material ops.

  • Ensures application of lean principles in all aspects of materials management operations.

  • Collaborate with Finance to help design cycle count and inventory audit processes.

  • Supports company-wide initiatives through active leadership and participation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

For a candidate to be successful as a Material Process Engineer they must have:

  • BS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent

  • 3+ years of materials management, material flow engineering, continuous improvement, and manufacturing experience.

  • Knowledge and experience in the principles and practical application of materials management, lean manufacturing, quality assurance, accounting, and information systems.

  • Experience in data manipulation and / or visualization preferred.

  • Experience in utilizing problem-solving tools to determine root cause and implement solutions.

  • Efficient cross-function collaboration skillset to collectively work through problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
