THE OPPORTUNITY
The Material Planning Associate will serve as the site-specific expert in improving material flow and inventory accuracy as it pertains to raw material, WIP, and the finished goods area of the Armor Manufacturing site. The Material Planner Associate will work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Production Planning and Operations to manage material flow and ensure company goals are met on time and at the best cost possible. They will engage in implementing process improvement strategies, cross-functional continuous improvement teams and/or selected development/business area projects as assigned by Supply Chian Management. They will create solutions and action plans to help ensure that problems are resolved, and inventory remains accurate. They will also coordinate and prepare Operations documentation for inventory reviews in support of Operations requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of a team of professionals committed to enabling business growth. YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet Supply Chian/Production/Finance requirements while optimizing inventory levels.
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from vendor to Galvion.
Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions. Understand and manage risk to minimize production schedule impact.
Manage the integrity of Bills of Material (BOM's) and manage inventory accuracy.
Manage inventory levels against agreed upon target levels. Manage obsolete stock and ensure the site has minimum liability.
Coordinate with Purchasing the availability of raw materials.
Coordinate material movement between vendors, warehouse, and production floor. Assist in the development, implementation, analysis, and coordination of production schedule.
Maintain and update respective master files.
Monitor the integrity of Bills of Material (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy. Participate in cycle counts to include physical inventories.
Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
Analyze data to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment processes. Coordinate with Buyers to confirm customer orders promised date according to schedule/capacity plan.

Communicate inventory levels, trends, and savings opportunities that support corporate objectives.
Assist Supply Chain team in optimizing and sustainability of Kanban as well as safety stocks.
Work closely with all departments in a manner that supports the business and encourages and builds a positive relationship. Ensure timely and effective communication where applicable at all levels of the organization.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Support Galvion's Supply Chain team with overall company objectives in mind. Interact with Finance and Supply Chain to respect fiscal objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Associate degree required / BS or BA degree is preferred.
3+ years' experience in inventory control.
3+ years' experience in material planning/scheduling.
Experience in manufacturing environment required. Attention to detail is required. Ability to prioritize duties in shifting environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform general office work quickly and efficiently. Good interpersonal and communication skills
Solid experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience with ERP and MRP systems to ensure the timely delivery of all needed materials.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an efficient and timely manner. THE TEAM
