Our Client is a manufacturer of aircraft components and assemblies, based in a modern industrial facility in NYC. They have asked Hallmark to help them find an experienced Material Planner to manage their production schedules, capacity planning, and inventory, analyze sales orders, and handle purchase orders for production materials.

  • Planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements, best utilize production capacity, and manage inventory levels
  • Act on order releases, action, and exception messages from company system
  • Analyze sales order releases re: capacity planning and material requirements
  • Manage inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item (either manufactured or purchased), to meet production schedules
  • Answer termination or cancellation requests from Sales
  • Receive and review sales orders against current requirements and Work in Process, using material requirement planning reports
  • Release purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases to support the business unit
  • Work directly with all manufacturing department supervisors, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality, to assess feasibility of weekly schedules, including materials and resources. This includes coordination of planning meetings to ensure production readiness based on product lead times, inventory levels and Work in Progress (WIP)
  • Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Engineering to ensure the accuracy of bills of material (BOM), inventory records, capacity planning and other financial/business tools. Correct any system data that results in invalid load, lead time, or schedule outputs
  • Track scheduling, receipt, inspection and release of all production materials, to ensure adherence to production schedules. Alert teams / upper-level management when constraints inhibit product flow
  • Execute ERP messaging tools to coordinate efforts needed to support operational needs
  • Work with Quality to track status of deviations and quarantines associated with release of materials required for scheduled manufacturing
  • Communicate any changes in the production schedule to the applicable department supervisor(s) and management in a timely manner, including need for any critical items prior to start
  • Attend Production Review meetings; track and manage metrics related to the finished goods plan


  • College degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Knowledge of Epicor software is required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including 3 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing/ERP environment
  • Must have a high level of energy and be detail and quality-oriented
  • Must have ability to identify and resolve problems, effectively manage change and deal with conflict in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have experience expediting activities to assure schedules are met without impacting quality
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S and/or Lean Manufacturing is a plus
  • Aerospace product knowledge is preferred, but not required
  • Computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports are a plus
  • Good technical writing, documentation, and record keeping skills
  • Good analytical problem-solving ability
  • Financial skills, including cost modeling, cost analysis, make vs. buy analysis
  • Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive supplier performance
  • Professional demeanor, with good interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
