Summary:

The Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for managing the efficient receipt, movement, and storage of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring all material handling processes and standard work are met, from Receiving through the Production and Assembly departments. Manages the flow of goods in the most effective, expeditious, and cost effective manner while adhering to safety and quality standards. Creates an inclusive and engaging work environment in which associates are fully developed and utilized.

Specific accountabilities:

  • Hiring, training, development, evaluation of material handling associates

  • Daily team priority-setting and work assignments, staffing/vacation management, KRONOS administration

  • Contributes to the development of department efficiency goals; manage to those goals once developed

  • Contributes to the development of standard work for material movement and material presentation in the facility; manage to the standard work once developed

  • Assist in the development of strategies to reduce damaged or misplaced materials

  • Conduct regular materials audits and address outages

  • Coordinate material movement with Shipping material handlers

  • Drive continuous improvement in the department to improve processes and safety, quality, cost metrics

  • Ensure department adherence to processes, policies, and standards

  • Create an engaging and inclusive environment

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, logistics, or other related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in lead role managing material handling in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Servant leadership mindset and actions

  • Influential written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement environments

  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive environment where employees are motivated to give discretional effort

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Summary/Objective The Shared Resource Supervisor is responsible for leading a team to achieve department and plant goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and addressing performance issues; and ensuring adherence to systems, policies, and procedures. Safety * Responsible for 5S within the work area to ensure safety goals are exceeded * Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all department machinery, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. * Inform Management of Safety issues, reports workplace injury or incident * Monitor the workplace for unsafe conditions * Investigate work place incidents * Participate in Monthly Safety walks, correct and identify safety items * Communicate known safety hazards * Encourage and enforce safety rules and safe work habits to your team * Update EHS Action Tracker Quality * Discuss all Quality issues in DMM * Communicate quality issues to Leads * Create work instructions to produce a quality part * Attend daily Quality meeting, disposition of parts, use defective parts to teach and train your associates * Ability to read Blue Print Productivity * Set Daily Goals for the team to Improve Safety, Quality and Productivity * Create schedule based off of employee availability, and coordinate shift activities.
