In this role, it is the responsibility of the Material Handler/Shipping Assistant to provide assistance to the Outbound Supervisor in the Outbound Department. The Material Handler/Shipping Assistant shall ensure operations are compliant to applicable GMP standards as defined by GUI-0001 “Good Manufacturing Practices” and GUI-0069 “Guidelines for environmental control of drugs during storage and transportation”. Major Responsibilities
- Verify the quantity of parcels on each shipment
- Ensure that all labels are placed with designated parcels
- Load trucks in an effective and efficient manner
- Move freight from the conveyors to the pallets/load building area
- Wrap pallets in an effective and efficient manner
- Invoice loads and prepare required paperwork
- Ensure that the Shipping Department is kept neat and clean
- Follow all Kohl & Frisch’s safety policies and procedures
- Ensure trucks are properly loaded to avoid damage to material
- Assist with the moving, lifting and piling of material using hand trucks, BTs and other devices as required
- Assist drivers with problems pertaining to their loads
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Experience in high volume distribution/warehouse environment
- Self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Must be able to lift and move product weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Certification in BT Operation
Hours of Work
