Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in-process, and finished materials throughout the facility.
Identifies raw material needed to supply to production.
Uses heavy equipment such as overhead cranes to move various sizes of steel material such as plates and poles throughout the facility.
Stages all stock and manufactured steel plate, black or galvanized steel pipe to production.
Moves in-process and finished poles to appropriate areas.
Performs routine safety inspections prior to operating equipment.
Abides by all Safety Standards and Policies including use of all personal protective equipment (PPE).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Prior experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes or other heavy equipment in a manufacturing environment desired.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally in the English language.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and contribute to the success of the team.
Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, sit, stand and grasp.
Must possess the ability to stand or walk 100% of the shift.
Must be able to pass a commercial driver vision test.
