Performs various manual operations and operates equipment in a warehouse and logistics process. Receives, identifies, stores, picks and moves goods and material and operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, palletizers and other equipment as required.


  • May serve as a lead operator in less complex, smaller teams or standard operations.

  • Operates a forklift when required and is fully trained and operational; may not perform the most complex, heavy or oversized transports.

  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, product code and related characteristics; tends to be more complex or in multiple cells or operations and fully trained.

  • Operates hand tools to close or opens bales, build or tear down crates, and other containers or material; packaging can be advanced or non-standard.

  • Completes or verifies appropriate forms, documents, labels and other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory, monitor and track material and successful receiving and/or delivery of goods; involves knowledge of several operations or varied goods and services.

  • Identifies potential operational or service concerns, notifies appropriate co-workers and assists with resolving.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and a safe and effective work environment.

  • Assists with training and providing basic work instructions to new hires or transfers.

  • Develops and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times, such as working collaboratively, providing timely communications and instruction and assisting with operations as necessary.

  • Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.

  • Prepares and assembles orders, picks and counts material, moves and loads materials between operations or trucks; uses labor or manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.

  • Performs various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, cleaning docks, staging, packing, racking and related storage areas, proper storing equipment, basic preventative maintenance and related tasks.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Typically at least two years of warehousing or related logistics experience


  • Operating hand and power tools, including hand truck, pallet jack, and related warehouse equipment.

  • Responding promptly and professionally to customer needs, including in a warehouse environment.

  • Reading, comprehending and completing shipping, receiving and related operational documents.

  • Performing in a team environment.

  • Performing manual tasks, including those in a warehouse environment.

  • Following safety policies and procedures, including those in a warehouse environment.

  • Basic proficiency in Internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

  • Assisting with providing basic work instructions.

  • Identifying and resolving potential operational concerns.

  • Operating a forklift or the ability to become forklift certified, when required.

Languages and Communication Skills

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.

Computer Skills

  • PC literate.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Other Skills/Experience

  • Ability to drive and/or operate heavy machinery and equipment.

  • Ability to operate a dolly, forklift, hand trucks, lift-gate and pallet jacks.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Basic typing skills and/or data entry skills.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

  • Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs and responds to requests for service and assistance.

  • Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.

ATI Specialty Materials seeking a qualified candidate for a Production position at ATI Powder Metals in Oakdale, PA. Atomizer- ATI Powder Metals, Oakdale, Pennsylvania Primary Function: Prepare, maintain and operate the atomizing unit including: preparation of the melt chamber and equipment, charging furnace, ensuring heat chemistries are within specification, preparation of liquid prior to atomizing, operation of the atomizer ensuring that assigned parameters are followed during the pour. Job Duties: Prepare, maintain, and operate the atomizing unit and to follow specific written procedures for: * Dismantling melting equipment * Dismantling atomizing chamber * Shutdown of liquid station * Maintenance of all necessary ceramic equipment and fixtures for melting, pouring, atomizing; includes making tundishes, pouring and funnel transitioning as needed and setting of new ceramic runner box, and installation and maintenance of thermocouples. * Assembling and inspecting atomizing plate and atomizing hold-down ring. * Following weight chart for making heats, checking weights and materials and processing weight slip on each charge. * Operate instruments used to monitor process variables. Assemble equipment for melt chamber, atomizing chamber, and feed hopper operation and completion of the melting process to tap and liquid argon preparation prior to atomizing and during atomization. This includes: * Inspection, cleaning and preparation of the melt chamber and equipment * Preparation of the atomizing chamber for operation and alignment with the melt chamber. * Charging the furnace, cleaning and fitting of necessary apparatus to bring the unit to the start melting stage. * Operation of unit to bleed-up of melt chamber to atmosphere and preparation to tap which includes making certain that individual heat chemistries are within specification. * Prepare liquid argon prior to atomizing and during atomization. * Ensure that assigned parameters are followed during pour. * Operate Atomizer. * Handle powder as needed. * Tape test cleaned equipment as needed. * Enter all necessary documentation in log and obtain required powder samples. * Perform removal and installation of furnace into melt chamber. Maintain inventory for supplies, equipment and spare parts. Maintain good housekeeping by keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards and taking care of tools and equipment through 5S implementation. Adhere to company safety policies by attending mandatory safety meetings; developing safe work habits; providing suggestions for a safer workplace and being aware of fellow employees.
