Summary:

Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a Material Handler in its Supply Chain Department located in St. Paul Park, MN. This position performs warehousing activities in support of routine maintenance, shutdown, turnarounds, and small capital projects such as receipt, storage and distribution of materials to meet established service level objectives in a safe and secure manner. Interfaces with various operating groups including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, Safety, and Security (ES&S), etc.

Responsibilities:

• Unloads material deliveries, reviews shipments for accuracy, books material receipts, and stores material in accordance with Company and site policies and procedures.

• Pulls and selects materials required for maintenance, repair, operations, and construction of the facility.

• Performs cycle counts, receiving and shipping duties, and ensures proper documentation has been completed.

• Use of equipment in a safe and compliant manner (PMI gun, forklifts (electric and LPG), pallet jack and transport vehicle.

• Understands workflow processes and SAP warehousing functionality.

• Provides assistance in resolving inventory and material order problems.

• Provides assistance in training on warehouse systems and processes.

• Maintains records in accordance with the company's records retention policy. Identifies areas for process improvements and optimization.

• Establishes and maintains effective methods of communication with Supervisor, co-workers, customer groups and Supply Chain.

• Identifies inventory discrepancies, receiving discrepancies and damaged material and takes appropriate action.

• Coordinates the monitoring and control of inventory in conjunction with the Material Controller and Warehouse Manager.

• Completes training as required, including specialized training specific to job requirements.

• Performs shipping duties including material identified as Hazardous Materials.

• Performs daily housekeeping tasks related to keeping a safe, clean, and organized warehouse.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Must qualify and obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Experience:

• 2 or more years of SAP or other ERP system Material Management Module experience preferred.

• Forklift certified or prior certification preferred.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills required.

• Microsoft office 365 proficiency preferred.
