What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and according to safety procedures

  • Provide on-the-job training to new associates on department processes

  • Participate in and direct the team in using Lean warehousing methodologies

  • Perform departmental processes and tasks

  • Safely operate equipment to complete duties

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and Lean warehousing methodologies

  • Experience operating material handling equipment and using a handheld scanner

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule with possible overtime when needed

This job requires the ability to:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally

  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights

  • Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull

  • Stand, sit or walk for long periods of time

  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel tools or equipment

  • Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments

What you'll do on a typical day: * Identify freight and coordinate delivery to ensure customer and company requirements are met in a timely manner * Ensure maximum efficiency and optimization in freight movement * Properly monitor customer shipments to ensure on-time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries * Troubleshoot and resolve shipment discrepancies as needed * Communicate with customers, employees and the management team to ensure achievement of requirements, goals and objectives * Identify strategies to increase freight from customer and/or to better manage existing opportunities * Correctly enter data into the transportation management system * Maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit and file various documentation What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * 2 years of experience in supply chain or logistics It'd be great if you also have: * Proficiency with Microsoft Office * Highly organized and detail-oriented work style, with a proactive and professional attitude * Ability to function effectively as a member of a team while promoting a positive and collaborative work environment * Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintain confidentiality when appropriate, produce accurate output and meet deadlines * Excellent verbal and written communication skills This job requires the ability to: * Lift up to 20 lbs. * Discern color and possess field vision Be part of something big.
