We are seeking a Material Handler II for 2nd shift. Please note that this is a temporary position through the end of December 2020 with the possibility of extension. You will organize and transport production and support material and equipment within the area of assignment. You may be required to use manual and powered material handling equipment and packaging equipment. This role has considerable physical demand consisting of frequent lifting or moving average weight material or occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material in difficult positions. This role will also require use of and the ability to drive a box truck.

Job Functions:

  • Locate, pick, move and store material and equipment according to established procedures, both written and verbal.
  • Unload and store material in proper locations and perform receiving transactions.
  • Use material handling equipment such as hand and powered pallet movers, fork trucks and some powered packing equipment such as banders and shrink wrappers
  • Maintain proper documentation and records using various paper forms and computer systems.
  • Operate company box truck between company buildings.
  • Follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations. Maintain individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/ tooling, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor. Count items and audit for package/ shipping damage.
  • Maintain necessary records as required. Moves material as necessary in performance of duties. Cycle count as scheduled
  • Obtain and maintain proper training for powered industrial trucks. Maintain daily logs.
  • Perform other duties as directed

Rate: $17.50/hr

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • 1-4 years related experience and valid driver's license
  • Experience using scan gun, inventory control experience, and experience loading and unloading 53' box truck
  • Must have good comprehension of English language both orally and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of BIN transfers
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and in the moment

Investigation and resolution of inventory Issues.</p><p></p><p><strong>Job Functions</strong></p><ul> <li>Research inventory issues/oddities and Identify the root cause. Make the necessary adjustments in MAS500 as needed and warranted while providing all documentation to support adjustments. </li> <li>Educate individuals involved with issues to eliminate the problem going forward. If it is determined to be a system oddity, communicate with the IT department to have the issue resolved.</li> <li>Scrub physical inventory before Controller posts year-end close.</li> <li>Perform daily cycle counts adjusting inventory as needed.</li> <li>Maintain Weekly Cycle Count Spreadsheet. Count as necessary, identify inventory issues, and maintain metric.</li> <li>Maintain meticulous records on root cause analysis and corrective actions.</li> <li>Cycle Count Administrator utilizing O2.</li> <li>Monitor the Production bin to ensure timely returns to the warehouse.</li> <li> Investigate and resolve any material issues the Inventory Department encounters while issuing materials for candle production.</li> <li>Communicate with Inventory, Shipping/Receiving and Material Handlers daily before adjusting inventory. Understanding of MAS500 and the effects of transactions on others is critical to the job requirements.</li> <li>Coordinate disposition of items between the Project Management Group, Purchasing, Logistics and Finance.</li> <li>Communicate in writing any changes or discrepancies to all departments.</li> <li>Knowledge of MAS500 operating system.
