Position Description

The purpose of this position is to accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with or without powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required. This is a second shift position with hours of 4:00 p.m.

  • 12:30 a.m. Monday

  • Friday.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum of one year of related warehouse and/or powered industrial lift experience required

  • Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas

  • The ability to input data into various WMS computer systems

  • Work overtime as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions

  • Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer

  • Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered

  • Pull orders accurately as assigned

  • Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location

  • Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process

  • Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures

  • Performs housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned

  • May operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery

Stores, picks, and delivers materials and supplies to internal customers, may also be responsible for loading and unloading pallets and other material from trailers. Identifies material and inputs respective data into inventory management program. Operates forklift and other equipment in a safe manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Suggested hours are 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 7:00 am to 11:00 pm Friday. * Receive and post all engines on both docks. * Complete daily cycle counts. * Complete weekly tag reports. * Complete weekly system balance (AS400 and database). * Perform all red tags and ICT's * Return all crates and racks. * Track and report all short stocks. * Monitor order changes. * Work with buyer and supplier on timely RMAs. * Process all ICT timely and efficiently. * Adheres to all safety and housekeeping guidelines. * Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or GED equivalent required. * Ability to operate a computer and accurately enter data. * Warehousing experience preferred. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. * Must be able to adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way. * Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels within the organization. * Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business. * Must always possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately. * Ability to read and comprehend in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one ad small group situations to team members of the organization. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to apply common sense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving limited variables in standard situations in a professional fashion. * Ability to correctly use pallet jack, forklift, calculator, and computer. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work in various weather conditions; stand for long periods of time; repetitively walk short distances; use hands to feel, finger, or handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb steps or stools; stoop, kneel, or crouch; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; use close vision and distance vision.
