Join our team, and you might wind up in unexpected places. Graybar is looking for a Warehouse Material Handler in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will work with the team to ensure our warehouse is a smooth operating machine and that our products get where they need to be. In this role, you will unload delivery vehicles, receive inventory, store product, select and pack customers' orders. This will require you to lift and move inventory around a working warehouse, and operate equipment safely. At times you may be asked to deliver product to customer locations.

This position is full-time and the shift is 11am-8pm.

Salary: $14.50/hour


  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and push carts

  • Unload and accurately receive deliveries

  • Store product in specific location and note in system

  • Select and pack customers' orders; at times deliver customer orders in light van or delivery vehicle

  • Maintain clean warehouse including following all safety procedures and performing daily safety inspections

What you bring to the table:

  • Can perform physical requirements in a warehouse environment including lifting up to 70 lbs., cutting wire, climbing ladders and staying on the move in various temperatures, depending on the location

  • Safely operate warehouse equipment and proper use of PPE

  • Good attendance and work ethic

  • Can perform tasks quickly and accurately

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required

Our mission is to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by improving their health. The Material Handler I assists with the packaging and assembly of our health and wellness products. The Material Handler I also assembles all boxes for shipping daily, and helps with pre-building order kits to be staged for shipping. Key Responsibilities: * Assemble boxes for production along with pre-building order kits to be staged for shipping on a daily basis. * Performs basic quality control checks including measuring, weighing, strength testing, package counts, and evaluating product package and appearance. * Fold & tape high volume of boxes, applies labels and stacks boxes on pallets according to direction. * Maintain cleanliness and safety of work environment daily. Remove labels, package materials and products manually, proper bottle disposal. * Utilize RF scanner for inventory control of processed products. * Other duties assigned by supervisor, flexibility to mandatory over-time depending on business needs. Minimum Education & Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Some computer knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Windows. * 2 years of warehouse and RF scanner experience preferred. * Experience working with inventory control of processed products. * Ability to work regular, full-time schedule, Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3.30PM with flexibility to work additional hours depending on business demands. Physical/Work Environment/Expectations: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to: * Work in a seated or standing position for the duration of the work day on a full-time basis for up to 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. * Be punctual and report to work on a regular and timely basis. * Ability to lift 20 to 50 lbs. and have prior experience working with RF Scanner units. * Bend, stoop/squat, crouch/kneel, climb stairs and walk intermittently throughout the workday. * Perform direct and indirect tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as folding boxes, paperwork, computer keyboarding, filing, calculating and use of telephone. * See, hear and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions. * Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment individually and in groups.
