Material Handler

Day shift: Mon.-Thurs. from 5:30AM - 4:00PM

Starting rate = $14.17/hour with quarterly bonus potential and possible increases every 6 - 12 months!

Essential Functions:

  • Heavy over-shoulder lifting up to 50lbs

  • Required to stock and maintain a clean and orderly Finished Goods inventory in the Material Handlers assigned area

  • Responsible for keeping adequate levels of clips in Die Cast hoppers

  • Will be responsible for weighing tubs, stocking raw materials, and keeping accurate finished goods counts on all Pick-up sheets

  • Required to assist in keeping proper levels of lead in lead pots

  • Responsible for melting gates and scrap weights in auxiliary pots

  • May be required to work overtime to meet delivery schedules and customer needs.

  • May be required to perform duties outside of those listed above if deemed necessary to meet customer demands



  • High school diploma / GED equivalency required

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment including: electric hand trucks, gas / electric fork trucks, and any other necessary material handling equipment used at Bada

  • Have the ability to understand, execute, and maintain any FBS tools necessary for continuous improvement ex: 5-S, Standard Work, Kaizen events etc.

  • Ability to Communicate effectively

  • Self-motivated and able to work well with limited supervision

  • Strong desire to work with other team members toward common goals

Job Introduction Material Handler is responsible for "on-time delivery" of component parts and raw materials to the assembly line that meet or exceed quality standards. Support receiving, production, and shipping requirements of BGM. Major Responsibilities 1) Understand and promote Magna's philosophies and Employee's Charter 2) Follow proper Materials Management procedures as defined by BGM standards 3) Move, relocate, load, and unload parts either by manual operation or by forklift as required, to avoid production downtime and meet customer needs 4) Carry out and record incoming and outgoing inspection of parts, tags, racks, lift trucks, part tagger, etc. 5) Operate heavy equipment (forklift) in a manufacturing environment in a manner that does not endanger themselves or any other workers 6) Operate inventory scanner and cycle material based on FIFO standards 7) Follow all plant safety policies and procedures Knowledge and Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent Successfully obtain BGM forklift license Safe work practices, general knowledge of mechanical operations Work Experience Forklift operation experience of 6-12 months. Shipping/receiving, product delivery, and factory/warehouse experience.
