  • The Material Handler under general supervision, distributes either production or non - production items and materials to various locations throughout the plant. Materials may consist of purchased parts, in process parts, or finished goods.

Essential Job Functions

  • Moves parts or finished product and delivers mail packages to various department locations and/or warehouse locations.

  • Operates various material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and rolling carts or may move golf car and utility vehicles to and from yard.

  • Maintains the required paperwork and documentation of all parts and materials moved in accordance with the specified procedures.

  • Ensures work areas and other designated work areas are maintained in a safe and neat manner.

  • Assists with the training and instruction of new employees who may be assigned to this area.

  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

  • Provide guidance while ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

  • Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory.

  • Responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by receiving and transporting components to the manufacturing floor in accordance with predetermined safety, quality, method and sequence standards.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

  • Previous Material Handling experience preferred.

  • Current fork lift certification in the State of South Carolina or willingness to become certified preferred.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details.

  • Strong computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office).

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skill.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience.

  • Proven team player.

Position: Warehouse Supervisor Reports to: Material Control Manager Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services, and supervising staff. Position Responsibilities: * Achieve warehouse operational objectives through the contribution of warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. * Meet warehouse operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. * Develop warehouse operation's systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, and creates processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping. * Continuous development, implementation, enforcement, and evaluation of policies and procedures. * Create warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment. * Establish warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout, and implementing changes. * Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations. * Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. * Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. * Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. * Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. * Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. * Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. * Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. * Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. * Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Other responsibilities include but are not limited to resolving problems, completing audits, and identifying trends * Performs other duties as assigned Key Competencies and Success Factors: * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
