DuPont's Transportation & Advanced Polymers is seeking Material Handlers at our Midland, MI plant. If you are hardworking, dependable, and safety conscious, then this is the role for you!

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for completing various tasks around the plant in an accurate and safe manner. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate, maintain, clean all equipment associated with the various packaging operations.

  • Package finished product in appropriate packing components per work instructions.

  • Obtain required samples of finished product during packaging operations for laboratory testing.

  • Receive raw materials, packaging, and other supplies per work instructions.

  • Stage, prepare, and load product.

  • Stage raw materials/redissolve material for process as directed.

  • Complete all paperwork as required.

  • Follow all safety and GMP rules

  • Perform duties assigned routinely and during plant emergencies.

  • Environmental responsibilities include proper disposal of waste materials to prevent pollution and use of proper safety procedures to reduce employee health risks.

The following are required:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Willing and able to lift 25kg (approximately 55 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Willing and able to work a rotating 12-hour shift, including weekends and holidays as required

  • Willing and able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE), such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)

  • Willing and able to perform repetitive movement, including climb multiple flights of stairs, stand, stoop, and bend

  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions

  • Complete the Material Handler Training Checklist

The Material Handler is responsible for effective delivery and tracking of packages in and out of its central receiving point. Those applying for this position should have an understanding of how the packaging/tracking and receiving process works. Responsibilities: * Receives, marks, stores and distributes materials within the Midland Site. * Loads and unloads trucks and delivery vehicles. * Operates delivery truck, forklift, other tools and equipment. * Use of scanner to track location of every package received. * Interface with clients on a daily basis to ensure that their needs are met. * Performs related duties as assigned. * Candidates will be required to work effectively within a team and by themselves. The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation if the position is offered to someone who lives outside the area or reimbursement for travel to and from test sessions or interviews. If you consider a position that is not within the area you reside you will be responsible for all cost that incur. Required Qualifications: * Current, valid, United States driver's license. * Able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends & holidays) and work overtime when needed. * Able to demonstrate basic computer skills. * Successfully complete a background check. * Pass a drug screen if job offer is received and accepted. * Pass a functional physical testing and be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less. (Physical capabilities test will be conducted by an outside vendor.) * Lift 50 pound bags of material. * Climb ladders, stairs and work at heights. * Work in tight or closed-in spaces. * A minimum requirement of this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
