The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Material Handler, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Demonstrating commitment to the success of the department goals, supporting the efforts of individuals, and teamwork in all aspects of job responsibilities and contribute to team problem solving and production efforts.

  • Maintain inventory by identifying and placing material and supplies in stock, recording location movement of inventory in warehouse.

  • Warehouse maintenance: cycle counts,

  • Locates material and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders and delivers and records material movement location in ERP system.

  • Process returned materials in ERP system, and disposition materials and maintains hazardous waste shipments, by preparing hazardous waste for shipment and/or loading of hazardous waste.

  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-user inspection.

  • Recognizing quality improvement opportunities and performing general housekeeping to keep the work areas clean.

  • Must possess excellent teamwork & interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate process and equipment information to co-workers and department supervisors and managers

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) and ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to document legibly in English.

  • Minimum one (1) year of warehouse/material handling experience in a private, public, government, or military environment, or comparable experience in similar field.

  • Must be able to use a calculator and have good basic math skills including metric conversions and percentages.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience operating a powered industrial vehicle

  • Maintaining a valid California Drivers License

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools.

Travel: May include up to 5% [domestic/international]

Relocation: Is not authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Job Description: The Associate Material Program Specialist 1 will support and demonstrate project management and supply chain management skills. The ideal candidate will be able to function with minimal supervision as a liaison for assigned program proposal efforts in support of proposal generation and other Supply Chain Management activities including creation of Basis of Estimates, Cost/Pricing data and Negotiation efforts. Other responsibilities including but not limited to: * * Establish/negotiate material budgets to support program requirements * Support Program financial positioning and planning as it pertains to material * Responsible creating Supply Chain Management labor BOEs * Act as proposal coordinator for responses to external customers, organizing a compliance matrix and due dates for assigned deliverables, formatting and submitting final proposals * Support Proposal Managers in the development of larger proposals with varied content support * Maintain clear and effective communication with the Program Office and internal customers including Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts * Support the creation of Material Program Plans (MPPs) * Analyze supply/demand position for Purchase (Buy) materials using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools * Assist with maintenance of standard proposal templates and support the creation of new, reusable materials * Support the identification and mitigations of program risks as they pertain to material requirements * Meet company and customer requirements by providing the linkage between customer, subcontractor, program management and internal support functions * Create graphics, charts, and slide decks for bid packages, basis of estimates, and other presentations as required * Ensure program-wide focus on safety, reliability, cost, and schedule and adequacy of systems, procedures, people and selection of companies (companies, strategic partners) for long term success * Challenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvement * Drive data based decision making and maintain historical record for auditing purposes * Understand basic technical knowledge of the assigned program(s) Basic Qualifications to Succeed: * Exercise influence and lead others in a fast paced and dynamic environment * Communicate clearly, and excel in follow-up and task completion * Balance strategic thinking with tactical application to support program execution * Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining a self-starter mentality * Be a detail-oriented, team player * Capable of multi-tasking and able to work extended hours as necessary * Ability to be flexible, innovative, and work effectively with speed and agility to drive projects and tasks to completion Requirements: * College Graduate with 0 years of experience * Must be a US Citizen * Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills * Comfort in presenting to both peers and leadership * Ability to travel domestically * Program and Budget Management skills * Intermediate user with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio Desired Experience: * Degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business * Program Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience working on prime defense programs * Deltek Costpoint experience * Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) * Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification * Understanding of Government Procurement processes and regulations * Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance (not required) * Lean and Six Sigma Training and/or Certification desired * Experience in supporting prime proposal efforts Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
