I: Job Scope

The Material Handler is responsible to ensure the receipt, storage and delivery of all materials into the facility are in accordance with the written procedures and accountable for cycle counting and physical inventory activities.

II: Responsibilities

Interact with all Emergent departments as required to ensure efficient movement of materials through the facility.

III: Level of Education, Experience & Skills

  • Must have strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent math and verbal skills.

  • Ability to use computer programs.

  • Forklift Certification is a must.

  • Using manual and electric pallet jacks and hand trucks to move material

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • High School diploma or at least 1 year warehouse experience.

  • Quality Assurance experience not required but desirable.

  • Maintain access, appearance, safety and control of the warehouse including cold rooms, stability chambers, cabinets and freezers

  • Satisfy all stock requisitions in accordance with written procedures

  • Back-up for daily transaction update of the material resource planning database

  • Daily monitoring of chart recorders

  • Responsible for obtaining shipping authorization and actual shipment of product, samples and overnight letters

  • Ensure appropriate stock level of all shipping materials

  • Process materials as needed to be returned to vendor

IV: Physical/Mental Requirements

Must be able to stand/sit/operate in warehouse environment for 8 hour intervals and assist with loading and unloading, which requires standing and moving to different locations for up to 8 hours. Capable of properly lifting an average of 30 lbs from shelf to shoulder to knee to cart/ pallet multiple times per day. Occasionally lifting boxes weighing in excess of 70 lbs. onto carts, pallets, weight scales. Occasional exposure to temperatures averaging 2-8 degrees C to as cold as

  • 20 degrees C and freezers as cold as

  • 70 degrees C with proper attire. Ability to push multiple wheeled bins weighing several hundred pounds up to 375' as needed. Type/keyboard, visual acuity, good eye/hand coordination, stand, walk, sit, twist/turn, climb, reach outward, reach above shoulder, hand dexterity, bend, squat/kneel, sense of feel, sense of hearing, sense of smell. Be capable of operating manual or electric pallet jacks to safely move pallets. Use phone, fax, copier, and computer. Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, problem solve, plan, communicate. Understand and respond to a diverse population. A large percentage of work time is spent on the floor or throughout the warehouse or at a desk at times. The work space is an open space and prone to noise and distractions. Safety is a priority.

It is the job. This is what we call Working Right. Cummins is looking for an extraordinary Service Supervisor, 2nd shift to be located at our Glen Burnie, Maryland location. Key Responsibilities * Serve as key customer contact to promote quality customer service and increase business within the branch location. * Assesses customers needs, gathers pertinent information, and opens work orders; provides quotes, develops claims, prepares repair plans, schedules work, and provides status updated to customers on repair work in the shop * Develops diagnostic plans, quotes and repair plans by determining the length of repair based on parts and labor availability; reviews diagnostic plans, quotes and repair plans with the Service Supervisor prior to customer contact; works with the Service Supervisor to schedule shop job assignments. * Develops positive relationships with key customers; resolves customer concerns regarding Cummins? or distributor warranties; explain charges to customers. * Monitors key performance metrics for the workshop, including labor productivity and customer satisfaction. Skills Diagnostics Application - Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plan; troubleshoots issue following guided work flows, procedures, specialized equipment such as mechanical and electronic service tools, and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components to enable a successful repair; validates repair by duplicating complaint to ensure it has been resolved; documents results of troubleshooting in business systems to communicate what has been done for payment and historical tracking. Warranty Process - Analyzes customer issues to verify root cause of failure and associated progressive damage using Cummins published service information; interprets the warranty administration manual to determine eligibility for coverage and claim requirements; identifies items associated with repair that can be covered and communicates to stakeholders; files a claim in the appropriate system using proper documentation and requirements to receive accurate settlement. Technical Escalation - Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources including data management tools; elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts; captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner. Service Documentation - Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done. Electronic Service Tool Development - Explains scope of all primary electronic troubleshooting tools to understand which tools are applicable; identifies clear and robust design requirements by following the required process to ensure design meets or exceeds requirements; develops and executes test plans to validate the service tool. Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise. Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. Directs work - Providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done. Financial acumen - Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.
