Flow Engineer

color:#333333">Design, implement, and maintain the flow of parts within the

factory, including determining quantity of parts needed at the operation and

method of delivery using lean manufacturing principles; work with automated

guided carts for the facility utilizing SAM software; own the Plan For Every

Part (PFEP) database and work effectively with other groups such as

manufacturing and packaging engineering, purchasing, planning, and operations

to ensure accuracy of the part data and execution of part changes; enter/request new PFEP data, update PFEP

data; use MS Access, Vizio, Pivot Table and Excel in conjunction with PFEP

knowledge for warehouse project planning; monitor demand/usage; and prepare

Model Year (MY) changes; maintain change database; run change implementation

meeting; send out notices for actions; monitor effective dates; recommend

effective date changes; track/communicate part availability; follow ECN

disposition; determine packaging requirements; coordinate with packaging

engineering and manufacturing engineering as needed; prepare containers,

labels, documents, locations, etc.; implement part with ME/Process Tech;

participate on kaizen/lean teams; lead new product material team; and lead new

flow and replenishment process focused on kitting, KanBan and other pull

methodologies; container/kanban card audits; container, label, document

updates; monitor all part replenishment (supermarket, high pick, sequence, kit,

etc); utilize AS400 and Bills of Materials for defining plant material flow;

and, implement container updates based on usage.

Master's

degree in Industrial Engineering; Production Engineering, Mechanical

Engineering or related engineering field and three years of experience in

manufacturing engineering, lean manufacturing/ engineering, or material/flow

engineering.

Must

possess one year of experience with:

  • AS400 and Bills of Materials;

  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP);

  • Programming within Systems Automation

Manager (SAM) software;

  • MS Access, Vizio, Pivot Table

and Excel; and

  • Powersport or automotive industry.

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-27T00:00 Job Number:2537 Requisition Number:12303BR Position Title: External Description:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead routing development and vehicle level sign-off for Off Road Vehicles. * Work with project teams to define project goals and product specifications. * Organize, lead and participate in routing design reviews to ensure there is adequate input and involvement from all engineering, operations, and other functional players. * Schedule and lead routing reviews on future and legacy products. * Participate and lead routing peer team meetings and FMEA meetings. * Present in key design gate meetings. * Work with Development Engineers and Technicians to develop and execute routing DVP&R and ensure suitable level of development and validationis conducted at appropriate times within the product development cycle. * Create and maintain routing engineering standards, specifications and lessons learned and communicate them to the project teams and other systems / design engineers. * Ride ATVs and SxSs to evaluate routings robustness and other vehicle characteristics. * Evaluate and analyze field issues on existing product, recommend and execute timely solutions. * Support manufacturing with problem resolution and assembly-friendly new product designs. * Travel to manufacturing facilities to support preproduction builds as necessary * Work with manufacturing to ensure routing process documentation is up to date and accurate for ORV products. * Provide vehicle routing technical support to the product development team. * Benchmark tools and processes related to system routings and propose integration within engineering. EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE * B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent required. * 5 plus years of experience with a 3-D CAD modeling package and/or 3-D routing programs required, Creo Parametric / Pro Engineer preferred. * Experience in vehicle routings including but not limited to the following: electrical harnesses, fuel lines, coolant lines, oil lines, and HVAC. * GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and experience with engineering standards preferred. * Creative, innovative, decisive and prone to action. * Quality and customer focused. * Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principals, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * High level of people skills, able to work in a team environment. * Ability to work with domestic and international technology partners. * Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
