What You'll Do
As an Advanced Materials Science Plastics Researcher, you'll be part of our Hand Tools, Accessories, and Storage (HTAS) team located in New Britain, CT. You'll get to:
Conduct internal tests, lead suppliers to develop new materials, processes, and technologies for our products.
Teach other material leaders and engineers within the business unit and company to leverage new materials and technologies in the space of plastics and material science.
Create test procedures, quality plans, and transferrable documents associated with new materials and processes for successful implementation
Investigate new materials including many forms; bulk plastics, films and coatings, paint, powder coating and their associated processing methods (injection, static, fluid bed).
Experiment and research new materials and processes on the edge of the materials field (conductive plastics, over-molded circuits).

Who You Are:

MS/ME/PhD Material Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering or similar
Plastics lab experience
Advanced material and process knowledge
Report writing, presentation, and publication of technical literature Quantitative analysis and diagnostic testing with qualitative feedback and guidance
Electrical & Dielectric Insulation experiences
Strong understanding of corrosion and experience in corrosion prevention
Plastics forensics analysis experience a bonus
