JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Material Coordinator/Picker is responsible for inventory and inventory control measures. Unloads inbound freight, stocks material in the correct locations in warehouse, assures that inventory is rotated, and pulls material for jobs accurately and in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unloads inbound materials from trucks, unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, tags with part number and PO, and receives materials to MRP system.

  • Conducts hardware cycle counts.

  • Audits warehouse inventory locations for correct material and material quantities.

  • Point of use inventory management.

  • Provides hands on and classroom training for warehouse functions.

  • Supports all areas of the stockroom to maintain the flow of parts in the plant to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Responsible for resolving PO issues, job clean up, and any other inaccuracies that may arise on a day to day basis.

  • Moves and stocks parts to the correct locations in the warehouse after they have been approved by Incoming Inspection using MRP system.

  • Pull and pack parts to fill orders according to pick list generated from MRP software.

  • Follows and maintains FIFO inventory and lot control procedures.

  • Records inventory transactions using the MRP software.

  • Utilizes lifting equipment such as forklifts, high lifts and cranes.

  • Utilizes Production software to capture direct, indirect and rework time and cost.

  • Participate on ad-hoc project team(s) and performing other tasks as directed.

  • Follows safety rules and reports issues to management.

  • Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Computer skills including experience with SAP required.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to take initiative and act as a self-starter with warehouse tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

  • Minimum of 1 year forklift experience.

  • High school education or equivalent.

The employee is occasionally required to kneel, bend, stoop, walk or work in high precarious places. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and ability to adjust focus. PPE is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and equipment of various sizes. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
